Lilah was finally free and decided to take a look at the singing competition.
She informed Gerard and he agreed.
On the ground floor of the hotel, the contestants were practicing.
The initial round was over, and now was time for specialized training.
Lilah came across Effie in the midst of an argument with another woman.
The woman, not facing Lilah, spoke with arrogance. “If that's the case, I won't teach you."
“Fine, I don't want to learn from you anyway," Effie retorted.
The woman, indifferent and haughty, showed a flicker of surprise when she turned to see Lilah but remained aloof. She walked past without a second Look.
Effie, spotting Lilah, grabbed her hand. "You're here at last, Lilah.
You're a great singer, right? Can you help me?"
The departing woman paused upon hearing this.
Krista, searching for Karol, overheard and laughed.
“Sure, Lilah sings well, but she's an amateur. Karol, however, is a seasoned professional, even a national champion. Lilah is no match for her," Krista mocked, with Karol by her side.
Effie frowned at her. “Lilah's just not competing. She's more than capable of winning the championship."
Krista laughed again.
“Keep dreaming. I'd love to see you win under a so-called champion's guidance," she sneered.
Karol, with a subtle smile, glanced at Lilah and walked away with Krista.
"Miss Morris, that Effie is so naive. How can the Harris family have such a daughter? And Lilah, she's no comparison to you."
She looked up to Karol greatly.
As the Morris family's potential heiress, Karol was not only a top businesswoman and an acclaimed singer but also had a lot of other skills.
Many admired her without envy. Krista was utterly devoted to Karol, with even her company falling under the Morris Group.
“Just focus on what you need to do."
Krista nodded and then said worriedly, "I might get promoted easily, but they want us to compose a song in the finals. I'm not good at writing lyrics."
"Don't fret. I'll have someone else write it for you."
