But then, she suddenly realized that the voice she was listening to was Effie's.

This was the first time she was hearing this particular song. She wondered if Effie had composed it by herself.

It sounded so good that Krista couldn't help but clench her fists in frustration as she listened to it. Earlier, she had felt confident of winning the championship. But now, she had become quite doubtful.

She couldn't help but wonder where and how Effie had managed to get this song. If Effie sang such a song at the finals, Krista didn't think it would be possible for her to win the championship.

Unfortunately for her, she had already promised Karol that she would win the competition.

Krista's mind was in such a mess that she didn't even know how she managed to return to her hotel room.

Sitting on her bed, she began to browse through the video clips on her phone.

But suddenly, she saw a piece of news. It was about a previous national singing competition. Karol had won the competition that year.

But back then, someone else was more expected to win the first prize than Karol. The person started singing at a young age and had won many awards. But something unexpected happened before the finals that made it impossible for the person to ever sing songs again.

This was the first time Krista was hearing this, and her eyes lit up as a new thought entered her head.

If it happened that Effie could no longer sing, she would definitely be the winner of the competition!

Lilah had been bustling around for the last few days. She didn't realize that the final round of the singing contest was about to start until Effie called her.

Immediately, she put her work aside and went to the venue where the competition was being held.

She saw Effie putting on makeup.

"Lilah, here you are!" Effie said excitedly.

Lilah nodded. Her eyes soon caught the white balloon flowers on the table and she couldn't help but ask, “Who sent you this bouquet?"

“Walter," Effie said shyly.

Lilah broke into a smile. But Effie quickly explained, "Please don't misunderstand the situation, Lilah. He planted a lot of balloon flowers in his backyard, so he has plenty of them. That's why he sent me some."

"Okay. I see," Lilah nodded in understanding. "Is the balloon flower your favorite flower?"

"Yeah, I've liked balloon flowers since I was a child," Effie confessed.

Then she went silent.

Lilah's attention, on the other hand, was somewhere else. Her gaze had just fallen on a glass of water on the table.

After looking at the water for a moment, she whispered something to Effie.

Shortly after, a waitress walked in. When she saw the empty glass, a light flashed across her eyes. Without a word, she put down the plate of fruits and left the dressing room.
