He handed it to Lilah, saying, "Mommy, try my steak."
Lilah, after a bite, praised, "Tasty."
Walter gently handed his cut steak to Effie. She glanced at it and teased, "What are you doing? You cut well but I can do it better."
What was romance? It didn't exist in Effie's world.
Walter let out a heartfelt sigh, gazing gently at Effie. Eventually, he reclaimed the steak.
Getting through to Effie seemed like a long road for Walter.
Witnessing Walter's helpless look, Effie smiled slyly. Teasing this guy seemed like a good time.
Post-lunch, Effie planned to head back to the company, scrolling through her phone.
News of the final round of the competition quickly circulated online.
Krista cited poor health for skipping the final round and no other details surfaced. It looked like information was being kept under wraps.
Karol didn't offer an apology.
"Is Karol trying to deceive me?" Effie asked Gerard directly, “Gerard, give me Karol's number."
Gerard handed over Karol's number. Effie dialed it straight away.
Karol answered coldly, "Who's this?"
“It's me, Effie. Karol, have you forgotten something?" Effie complained.
Karol, in her office at the time, had a slight change in her expression. It was the first time in years someone had yelled at her like this. In Karol's eyes, Effie, being from the Harris family, wasn't entitled to arrogance. According to Karol, nobody in the Harris family, except Gerard, had the right to be arrogant.
Karol believed Effie joined the entertainment industry due to a lack of ability. In her opinion, Effie lacked sensibility.
Karol casually said, “It's my bad, but it's settled, and you're unharmed. How much do you want? I'll compensate you."
Perplexed, Effie questioned, "What money? You promised to say sorry online."
Karol's eyes revealed impatience. Effie, being from the entertainment business, didn't get it. It was tough luck that the Harris family had her as a daughter.
“Our families are cooperating now. It was my bad this time and I owned up to it. Why the aggression?"
Karol's tone was icy and giving off intimidating vibes. Anyone would be spooked.
But Effie wasn't your run-of-the-mill person.
"I'm aggressive? Look in the mirror! Did I force you to apologize?
