You promised on your own. Regretting it now? Don't make promises you won't keep. As a Morris family lady, can't you stick to your word?"
“What do you want?" Karol said indifferently.
“An apology!" Effie stated each word firmly.
Karol smirked, saying with disdain, “Fine, if you're that insistent, I'll apologize."
Then she hung up.
Seeing Effie's expression, Lilah sensed the negotiation hadn't gone well but she asked, “What happened? What did Karol say?"
Effie recounted Karol's words. Everyone was silent, thinking Karol was too full of herself.
“But I made her agree to apologize. Humph! She won't get away with this!" Effie said.
Lilah nodded but sensed there was more to it. Would the arrogant Karol really apologize?
As expected, something went down in the afternoon.
Skipping school today, Jerrold had hung out in the office with Lilah, helping his mom with Little things now and then.
Everyone at the company really liked Jerrold.
"Oh my God! He's so adorable!"
"Totally, like a little doll!"
Staff gathered around Jerrold, not wanting to leave. Jerrold complained, "I'm not a doll. I'm a boy."
Hearing this, the staff burst into even happier laughter.
They handed Jerrold candy and snacks.
They hugged and kissed Jerrold, who looked to his mom for help.
Lilah, smiling, came over and asked, "Done with your work?"
As soon as the CEO spoke, everyone quickly settled down. "No, we will go back to work now."
Reluctantly, they left.
Jerrold had several lipstick marks on his face, making Lilah laugh.
She wiped his face and remarked, “Looks like you're quite the charmer!"
“I'm all about my mom."
