Astrid stared at her daughter's back for a while, knowing that everything she said was useless. Feeling helpless, she returned to her room and found her husband, Braden, up. "Do you think I did this parenting thing wrong? If only we had paid more attention to Tracy when she was young. Do you think she would have turned out better than this?"
The only thing Tracy prioritized was her own interests. If she couldn't gain anything from it, she ruled it out.
After a few seconds in silence, Braden answered, "All children have different personalities. Even if we want to, we can't change them. As long as she doesn't do anything bad, it should be fine. Besides, being ambitious is not necessarily a bad thing, right?"
Astrid nodded helplessly and closed her eyes.
If only their eldest daughter Joselyn were still here. Everything would have been different. She wouldn't have had to worry about the Rhodes Group.
The next day arrived.
Everyone was rushing to work in the morning.
Gerard dropped Lilah and Jerrold off in front of the Phillips Group.
Just at the entrance of the company, Lilah saw Abia and some others who had left the company.
They were facing off with Adelynn.
It had been a few days since they saw Abia. She sure looked different. The accessories she had on were expensive. She was clearly getting a great paycheck at White Dew.
She narrowed her eyes at Adelynn and said with sarcasm, "Oh my, it's been so long. You look exactly the same. Look at my watch. It's a gift from my boss. Our new product is selling very well. You'll get one too if you join us. Unfortunately, you're stuck in the Phillips Group."
The people she came with burst into laughter, taunting Adelynn.
Adelynn's face hardened. “If you came to show off, you can leave now.
The sales of our skincare products have been steadily growing. We just might surpass you one day."
Abia and the others laughed mockingly again, as though they had just heard a joke.
"It's just a watch, and that is probably not more than two thousand.
Why are you showing off? Our sales quantity will exceed one hundred thousand this month and everyone's bonus will be tripled." A cold voice suddenly came from behind.
Lilah approached them with the very adorable Jerrold walking beside her.
Every employee at Botanic, the skincare line of the Phillips Group, received bonuses based on commission.
And if everyone's bonus was tripled. That meant each person would have over ten thousand dollars.
Adelynn's eyes lit up as she made the math in her head. “I'll rush in and tell everyone that they'll be getting a bonus of ten thousand this month."
Adelynn then shot a nasty glare at Abia and said, “The deputy director's bonus should be thirty thousand."
