"I'll get on it pronto," Adelynn declared energetically.
Lilah nodded, urging, "Let's roll."
The business scene was like a battlefield, always shifting.
As Lilah pondered a celebration, a knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.
"Enter," she invited.
The door was pushed open, and Adelynn and Kelley came in.
"Miss Phillips, the live stream is finally over. Kelley said she wanted to see you. That's why I brought her here," Adelynn explained.
"That's okay," Lilah nodded in understanding.
Since she had finished what she had come to do, Adelynn turned around and left the office.
“Miss Phillips, it's all over. I guess it's time for me to go,"
Kelley said with a smile after Adelynn had left the office.
"You're going so soon?" Lilah asked in surprise. "I haven't even invited you to a meal yet!"
Kelley had helped her a lot today. Hence, she felt that the least she could do was to treat her to a nice meal.
But Kelley politely declined. "Miss Phillips, you are so kind. But maybe next time."
Lilah got up from her chair and walked up to her. “Okay. Thank you for your help today. If you need any help from me in the future, don't hesitate to let me know."
"Okay." Kelley nodded. She was very much impressed with Lilah. Even though she was several years her senior, Lilah had left a deep impression on her.
"Come on, let me at least drive you home," Lilah offered.
Kelley didn't refuse this time.
On their way to Kelley's destination, both women talked about a lot of things. It didn't take long for Lilah to find out that they had a lot in common.
After dropping Kelley off at home, Lilah went back to work.
In the afternoon, while Karol was busy with her work, her phone suddenly began to ring.
When she looked at the caller ID and saw that it was a call from the marketing department, Karol immediately guessed that it might be about the skincare products and reached the assumption that Botanic must have already gone under.
So, with a happy grin on her face, she answered the call.
But almost immediately, she heard the caller say in an anxious tone, “Miss. Morris, there's bad news! It's Botanic!"
