"Yes," Lilah said with a nod.

This made Gerard grin widely and he vowed to her, "Lilah, I'll give you the most special wedding ever."

"Okay, I'm looking forward to it," Lilah replied with a smile.

"Gerard, Lilah, let me help with the preparations, too. I'll do my best to make sure I hold a unique wedding ceremony for you guys,"

Effie promised them.

She was determined to take it upon herself to ensure a wonderful wedding ceremony.

“I just wonder, when will it be my turn?" she added with a sad sigh.

Seeing her brother and future sister-in-law showing off their love had reminded her of the fact that she was still single and it made her feel envious.

"But Walter is very nice and sweet to you," Lilah pointed out. "Who knows, maybe you guys will get married soon."

Anyone who knew them could see that Walter loved Effie very much. If they got married, he would definitely treat her like a Little princess.

But at the mention of Walter's name, Effie's smile vanished and she said in a cold tone, "Lilah, don't talk about him."

She had thought that Walter had changed for the better and would never be a playboy again.

But she turned out to be wrong.

Anyway, she would never see him or have anything to do with him again.

Hearing such a warning from Effie, Lilah immediately sensed something amiss, so she asked her, "What's wrong? What happened between you guys? Did you fight?"

“Lilah, please stop talking about him and let's have lunch," Effie begged with a frown of displeasure on her face.

She'd barely made this statement when the waiter began to serve the dishes.

"These are all of the dishes you ordered," the waiter said when he was done.

“Thank you very much," Lilah said gratefully.

Since it was clear that Effie wasn't in a good mood, Gerard didn't bother talking to her. Instead, he pulled out his phone and sent a message to Walter, asking, "Did you have a fight with my sister?"

After the waiter had gone, Lilah looked at Effie and asked her in a patient tone, “Effie, did Walter do something that perhaps made you misunderstand him?"

“Lilah, stop asking me about him. Just forget about it," Effie countered and promptly picked up her fork to eat.

Clearly, Effie was not interested in discussing, so Lilah didn't bother her anymore. Instead, she said in a persuasive tone, “Since you don't want to talk about it, I'll stop asking. The most important thing between individuals is trust. You guys have known each other for so many years. You should know each other best. Don't just stay back and keep malice when you have fights; otherwise you'll regret it in the future."

Effie was slightly swayed, but then she thought of what she had seen in the mall and she couldn't help but frown at the recollection. She quickly put on a blank look and said confidently, “Lilah, I won't regret it."
