“ALL right. I trust you," Janis replied confidently.
Other family members began to mock Lilah. “Hey, Lilah, are you drunk?
You are just bullshitting and you know it."
“I'll stand upside down and wash my hair if the fund's price ever rises."
"Lilah, I'll donate all the money I've made if the price rises."
"How ridiculous! What makes you think the price will ever rise?"
At this point, Onyx also interjected, "Lilah, you know nothing about investment, yet you're being too stubborn."
"You'll find out soon," Lilah promised.
"Okay then. I look forward to seeing it rise," Onyx replied mockingly.
Keith promptly sent a voice message, saying, “Lilah, are you still refusing to step down from your position? Look, we all know that there's someone else who can lead our family properly and make us more money than you ever can."
"Exactly!" another person echoed. "Keith is correct. Lilah, there's someone else who knows better how to help us make money. So why do you still want to keep holding on to this position, eh?"
"I'll never let my grandfather down," Lilah replied confidently.
"That's ridiculous!"
"I've never seen a cheeky person like you before. You know nothing about business or investments, yet you shamelessly continue to hold on to your leadership position!"
“Remember that she's still the head of the family, so you guys had better mind your Language," Janis suddenly rebuked Lilah's critics.
"Janis, what we are saying is that we don't think Lilah deserves to be the family head anymore. She should quit and Let someone who's competent enough take over."
“Onyx has helped us make a lot of money. Everyone knows this. He's the one who deserves to be in Lilah's position."
"Since Onyx is so competent, why isn't he the one leading the family now?" Janis retorted. “Has it ever crossed your minds to think of that?"
ALL of a sudden, the ones who were attacking Lilah went silent.
Only Keith spoke up in Onyx's defense. “Everyone makes mistakes, Janis," he pointed out.
"I agree," Janis conceded. "And since you believe that everyone makes mistakes, why can't you just treat Lilah the same way and give her another chance? So far, her competence and intelligence have not been proven to be worse than Onyx's. So why can't you just trust her?"
Lilah felt touched when she saw Janis coming to her defense.
Even though virtually everyone else was suspecting and slandering her, Janis had so far been willing to trust and encourage her. Lilah appreciated her kindness very much.
But Keith wasn't going to concede so soon. He replied with another voice message, "Lilah doesn't know anything about finance and investment at all. But she has wasted our money. We don't need a leader like her. Do you want her to end up losing all the money and assets belonging to our family? Women are always short-sighted. This is not the time to talk about family affection and other sentiments.
