Soon, a crowd of people barged in.
Lilah looked at them, cool as a cucumber. "Granduncle Keith, what can I do for you? I moved your cash from the family fund.”
Keith's face dropped. “Lilah, I'm here to say sorry. My bad earlier.
But if you'd just told me straight up your investments could make bank, we wouldn't be in this mess."
"You guys remember what I said?" Lilah could see right through Keith and the others.
They wanted to put their money back in the family fund now that her investments were making money.
Keith grinned awkwardly. “Lilah, it was my bad. Don't take it personally. We're family!"
"Family?" Lilah scoffed.
“Sure thing. Handing over the family reins to you was spot on,"
Keith said.
Lilah smirked. "That's not how I remember it."
“I... I was just mad before!" Keith squirmed, trying to explain.
Lilah cut to the chase. "Granduncle Keith, you here for the fund?"
"Yeah, we want to put the cash back."
"Is that what everyone thinks?" Lilah glanced at the crew behind Keith.
They all chuckled. "Yep, we're with Keith. You're the boss at managing it."
"This cash has always been part of the family fund, and only the head can use it. It's only fair we return it. We're one family, and we'll follow your lead from now on."
“Lilah, we know you're forgiving. You won't hold this against us, right?"
With others praising her, Lilah stayed cool. "You're good to go."
“What? What does that mean?"
"Lilah, we know we messed up. We've apologized. Can't you let it slide?"
Lilah sensed the crowd's hostility, and their tones made it seem Like she was at fault, silently pleading for their forgiveness.
Calmly facing them, she stated, “When you came to me before, hoping to withdraw the money from the family fund, I told you to think it over carefully."
Keith and the others’ expressions turned even gloomier at Lilah's reminder.
