Realizing she had promised a day of fun with her son, Lilah quickly went about her morning routine.
Not long after she had slipped into her dress and grabbed her bag, a knock echoed through the apartment.
Approaching the door, she opened it to find Gerard and Jerrold, both looking dapper. "Lilah, are we all set to leave?" Gerard asked with a smile, his gaze fixed on her.
“Just finished getting ready. We can go now," she responded, stepping outside.
Jerrold, with a shy smile, complimented her, “Mommy, you're looking very pretty today."
Lilah laughed, delighted by his comment. “And you, young man, are looking very sharp yourself."
Jerrold's cheeks tinged with pink, a shy smile playing on his Lips.
Together, they headed out to a renowned family-friendly park in the city.
Lilah glanced at Gerard, who was focused on the road, and chose to enjoy the moment rather than inquire about their plans.
She trusted him to have everything under control.
Arriving at the park, Gerard found a spot to park.
Lilah stepped out of the car, her eyes taking in the vibrant atmosphere of the amusement park, and a smile spread across her face.
Once inside, Jerrold took Lilah's hand, his eyes scanning the array of rides and games, the laughter of children filling the air. His curiosity was evident, a subtle smile gracing his young features.
"Do you like it here?" Lilah asked, turning to her son.
"Yes." Jerrold nodded, his smile broadening.
"Let's pick a ride to start with. Today's all about what you want,"
Lilah said, knowing her work often kept her from spending as much time with him as she wished.
Lilah resolved to make more time for Jerrold in the future, eager to fully embrace the joys of motherhood.
Jerrold's smile widened in response, filled with happiness at the prospect.
He eagerly guided them through the park, choosing his favorite rides, with both Lilah and Gerard joining in on the fun.
The day seemed to fly by in their enjoyment.
Suddenly, Gerard's expression turned serious as he took a call. Lilah, sensing something was amiss, inquired, "Is everything okay?"
"It's an urgent contract matter that I need to address immediately.
Could you and Jerrold stay here while I handle this? I'll be back as soon as possible."
