"No worries, I can find the elevator by myself."

After Richard left, Gerard turned to Bexley and said, "You can head to the secretary department when you're ready."

“Okay, Gerard." While Bexley talked, her gaze stayed locked on Gerard.

Gerard grabbed his phone and called Walter. "Head over and escort the new hire to the secretary department."

“Okay, I'm coming," Walter said on the other side of the phone.

A few minutes later, Walter knocked and entered, briefly glancing at Bexley. He approached Gerard, asking, "Is this the new hire you mentioned?"

Gerard hummed softly and said, “How's the progress on the matter I discussed with you yesterday?"

"After Listening to what you told me," Walter said, "I checked the senior management of the company's branch in the eastern district, and I found that there were indeed a few managers who had problems.

But now, everything has been properly dealt with."

The Harris Group was a huge empire. With Gerard having so many responsibilities, he couldn't be expected to manage it all by himself.

It was only expected that people would take advantage of this and use all sorts of methods to get promoted and make illicit profits for themselves.

"Don't be in a hurry to fill the vacancies. If this sort of thing happens again, fire them immediately," Gerard ordered in a no-nonsense tone.

“Okay. Walter nodded in agreement. “The recent crackdown in the eastern district will serve as a warning to everyone else. I reckon there won't be any further trouble for a while."

"If I'm free in the next few days, I'll go there to see things for myself and scout for candidates to fill the vacant positions. In the meantime, I need you to help me handle the affairs at the head office," Gerard requested.

"Are you going by yourself?" Walter asked. "Why not send me instead?"

"One of us has to be at the head office," Gerard reminded him.

“Anyway, that's enough. We can talk about this later. Just take her to the secretary department."

Walter nodded. He turned around and said to Bexley, "Come with me."

As she left with Walter, Bexley gave Gerard one last glance, her eyes sparkling with admiration. “See you later, Gerard," she said, biting her lip shyly.

But Gerard, who was looking down at the files on his desk, only responded with a nod.

Bexley couldn't help but smile when she saw how much he was concentrating on his work. His appearance really fascinated her.

When they finally got to the secretary department, Walter pushed open the door and pointed to an empty seat. "From now on, you will work in this office," he said to her. “If you have any questions, feel free to ask others or talk to Gerard.”

"Thank you," Bexley thanked him and went in to sit down.

The others in the office were shocked to hear what Walter had just told Bexley. They looked at one another, their eyes filled with curiosity.
