This only made the jealousy in Bexley's eyes deepen.

“Bexley, I want to see you in my office right away," a sophisticated “looking woman suddenly instructed as she walked into the office. At the sight of her, everyone immediately went silent and quickly resumed their tasks.

When the woman saw that no one had responded to her instruction, she looked around the office and asked, "Who is Bexley Yates here?"

"I am," Bexley said, immediately standing up.

"Come with me then," the woman said and led the way to her own office.

When they arrived at the woman's office, Bexley stood in front of the woman and waited for her to speak.

The woman looked at her and said coldly, “Bexley, I'm aware of the circumstances surrounding your presence here. Even though you have some connection with Mr. Harris, I won't give you any special treatment at all."

"I know." Bexley nodded. “But may I know your name?"

Seeing how calmly Bexley responded, the woman began to develop a better impression of her. "My name is Joan Mitchell," she answered.

"Nice to meet you, Ms. Mitchell," Bexley greeted.

Joan responded by saying, "From now on, you will be the one responsible for sorting out Mr. Harris’ documents, serving him coffee and other such tasks."

"Got it, Ms. Mitchell." Bexley nodded in understanding.

"You can go back to work," Joan dismissed her.

Bexley promptly turned around and left.

At the same time, in the Phillips Group office, Lilah sat on the chair and glanced at the documents on her computer screen. She carefully read the bill. Then, she picked up the phone and dialed a number.

“Emma, I've signed the contract. Is there anything else I need to do today?" she asked.

The day before, Lilah was feeling good. However, her mood took a hit due to an unexpected accident.

She hoped to spend the day quietly and maybe have lunch alone with Gerard.

Emma hesitated before responding, "Let me check, Miss Phillips."

“Sure.”

Shortly after the sound of pages turning, Emma's voice came through, kind and considerate. “Miss Phillips, besides the contract you've finalized, we had a lunch planned for a partnership discussion. But, I've shifted it to tomorrow to suit your timetable. We can call it a day for now."

Hearing Emma's update, Lilah said, “Alright, I plan to head out around noon. Let me know if anything comes up."

"Will do," Emma responded.

After ending the call, Lilah checked her watch and then called Gerard.
