Chapter One Hundred Fifty-One
I met Luca outside the prison cells. I needed to get the handle so I could move on with my mate and family. I just want this part of our lives closed.
"What the hell happened?" Luca asked as a warrior opened the door for us.
"Something came up with Gamma Wilson, I' ll ex-plain later,”I told him as we walked further into the prison. All prisoners are held in the basement, and if you didn't know the layout this place was a maze. It was designed that way so no one could escape.
“Alpha, Beta," Gamma Connor greeted us.
“Has he said anything?”
“He only wants to speak with you. He wants a chance to explain.”Connor shrugged and I growled. I knew what was going to happen, he was going to kill my Luna and our child.
"Let's see what the fucker has to say," the bar doors buzzed and I pushed it open. We walked down the stairs to the basement, coming to another set of
bar doors. The warrior buzzed us in when he saw it was me.
"Where's Perry?" I ordered.
"Block B, Cell 5, sir," he answered.
"Blake, I know you're pissed, we all are but you need to claim down if you want to get answers," Luca warned me. I didn't say a word. I was already pissed off about this shit with my mother and now, having to deal with this fucker who betrayed me.
As we came upon his cell, he was sitting on the cot in the eight by eight cell. There was only a small window for light. The bars were also laced with silver to keep the prisoners in line. It's been a while since I had anyone down here for something as serious as this. Stealing was one thing, but threaten-ing my Luna, he should be dead already.
“Perry,”I growled. His head shot up from his hands.
“Alpha, I'm sorry,”he rushed out and I snorted.
“You wanted to speak to me, now speak. You are al-ready marked for death," I spat.
"Alpha, it's not what you think. I was commented by the council, before any of this."
"What are you saying?" Luca demanded.
"I'm saying that when I became head doctor and had to go to the council, I was commanded. They wanted to find a Luna wolf. I was told all head doc-tors were commanded to tell the council. And their rank outranks your command, Alpha. I tried to fight the command as long as possible after she saved your son. I tried. I never would have hurt her or your child. You have to believe me.”He begged. He had tears running down his face. I could see the re-morse.
"Would you be willing to have the Luna look through your memories? The council could have command-ed you to lie.”Connor asked him.
“I believe him,”Gunner grumbled. I didn't want to. I want him to die for the worry he caused. For the pain he caused my mate. But I know the council's command too well. He wouldn't have been able to fight it forever or tell me.
"I will do anything to prove my loyalty to you, Alpha, and our Luna."He pleaded.
"I will speak with her, but you will stay here until this mess is sorted out. And the only reason I'm giving you a chance is because I want the council dead for
what they put my mate and child through."
I left, knowing I was about to lose my shit. The council has interfered for the last time. They have no right to command anyone in my pack. And I'm done playing this sick game with them. I'm not pay-ing them to hunt down Luna wolves for their sick game.
I didn't stop until I was standing outside and I could breathe again.
"Blake?" Luca called out.
“I'm taking them out, all of them. They have no right to command anyone in my pack to do their bid-ding," I exclaimed, pacing in front of the building.
"Do you believe him?" Connor questioned. I stopped and looked at him. I gave him a nod.
"It explains more as to why Ryley's father ran with his Luna wolf. The council was commending pack members for information. He knew it wasn't safe anymore."Luca said.
“He should have taken his daughter with him,”I grumbled.
But maybe he thought with her mate and the largest pack that she would be safe from the council. He did his best with the information he had,"Connor shrugged. I blow out a breath.
"Blake, you know we are with you, no matter what. If they need to go, then we stand beside you," Luca confirmed.
"I know I want them dead for what they did to Ryley. No one deserves what she went through. No one should be property based on the wolf they were blessed with.”
"After you marry our luna, we will come up with a plan."I gave Luca a nod.
“I'm going to go see her,”I told them before I walked over to my truck. I needed her to calm this rage in me.
I walked into our house to find her and the boys in the kitchen.
“Hey, sweetie, I didn't expect you home so early,"she greeted me. I pulled her into my arms, burying my face in her neck.
"Blake, is everything okay?" She mumbled as I
breathed in her and our baby's scent. I had to re-mind myself that they were both okay.
"I need you to go through Perry's memories," I said, pulled back. She looked up at me.
"Why?" Aspen asked me.
"He's claiming it was the council who commanded him and other head doctors to find Luna wolves,"Ryley gasped.
"And you believe him?" Channing growled.
“I do,”I said, looking at him.
"This isn't over, is it?" Ryley whispered. I looked down at my beautiful mate. She had tears in her eyes. I shook my head. I pulled her close when she began to tremble.
"Dad, what are you planning?"I looked at Aspen, sit-ting beside his brother at the kitchen island.
“I'm planning a wedding with your mother and then we will come up with a plan for the council. I won't let them hurt another Luna wolf."
