Chapter 116
"No trouble at all." Patrick waved his handrepeatedly."Ms. Ryder, if you have any problem, just let me know. It's all good," he added.
Sophia nodded, pushed open the office door, and walked in. She then started to brew coffee.
Robert looked at the computer screen in front of him. On the screen were reports showing the current stock price and the distribution of Zabinski Group's shares.
The Zabinski family held absolute controlling power over the Zabinski Group, with a stake of 63 percent.
On the other hand, Thomas held a stake of 21 percent, making him the second largest shareholder after the Zabinski family. Timothy held a seven-percent stake, while Kenneth held a four-percent stake. The remaining shares were scattered among retail investors.
Robert furrowed his brows. With a capital of 1.5 billion dollars in hand, he could easily elevate the Zabinski Group to new heights. However, the prerequisite was to find a way to regain the shares held by Thomas and the other two.
Robert knew that if he tried to directly purchase the shares from those individuals, they would definitely refuse. He needed to find a way to make them voluntarily sell their shares.
Robert's phone rang abruptly;it was a message from Aaron.[Mr. Zabinski, Kendrick has invited Thomas for dinner at Majestic Hotel at 6 p. m. tonight. There will be other bosses from Yrinas present as well. I heard that they want to discuss some business, but there are no further details. Thomas only mentioned it to us, but he didn't extend an invitation for us to join.]
Robert looked at the message but did not reply. He remained seated, lost in thought. "Although having land is a prerequisite formajor projects, Zabinski Group has the upper hand and can prevent Zabel Group from taking the lead. However, for small business ventures, there is no reason for Zabinski Group to impede Zabel Group. After all, we wouldn't go so far as to prevent them from renting a commercial property, would we?"
Robert was well aware that Zabel Group was trying to convey a clear message to others about their strong determination to establish their roots there through those small-scale industries.
There was only one reason why Kendrick had arranged a meeting that night with the director and senior management from Zabinski Group, as well as other business owners; he wanted to convey an infiltrated message of Zabinski Group to everyone.
Robert tapped his fingers incessantly on the tabletop, deep in thought, contemplating how to deal with that situation.
He thought to himself, "Since we can't stop them, we have to bring them down. Whatever Kendrick's intentions may be, I will respond in kind. If he seeks to scheme, then I will confront him openly without hesitation!"
At 6 p. m., Robert checked the time and spoke to Sophia while she was cleaning the office, "Let's go to Majestic Hotel."
Sophia hurriedly tidied up the things in her hands and then took a step ahead of Robert to open the office door.
Robert sat in the backseat of the vehicle, looking through several reports intently. It was rush hour as he left work, and the roads were congested.
At 6:30 p. m., the Mercedes-Benz S-Class finally arrived at the hotel entrance and came to a stop.
Just as Sophia was about to get out of the car, she was stopped by Robert. "Wait until 7 p. m. before you get off."
Robert sat quietly in the car, watching the hotel gate as the time gradually approached 7 p. m.
Robert pushed open the car door and got out of the vehicle, while Sophia hurriedly followed suit.
Robert looked at Sophia, who was standing next to him, and said,"Take my arm."
"What?" Sophia was momentarily stunned, and she looked at Robert's face, realizing that his eyes held no malicious intent.
"Hold on to me and smile sweeter," Robert saidas he unbuttoned the top button of his own shirt collar.
Sophia was puzzled, but based on her understanding of Robert after those two days of interaction with him, she knew that he didn't have any ulterior motives. She quickly stepped forward, linked her arm with Robert's, and showed a sweet smile on her face.
