Chapter 124

With her long hair flowing down her back, Marilyn could not help but feel a bit worried as she saw the bustling scene at Fortuna Hall. Her toned legs were clad in a pair of trousers, and her exceptional demeanor made people involuntarily take notice of her even when she was sitting quietly.

Marilyn's eyebrows furrowed upon hearing Matthew's words, and she slapped the table with a resounding thud. "Matthew! Have you no sense of propriety?"

"Now who's the one lacking propriety,Marilyn?" retorted Matthew disdainfully, his face full of contempt."Joining forces with Zabel Group is crucial for the Quesnell family. If your actions cause any losses for our family, can you bear the responsibility? It's already the 21st century, so why are you pretending to be a dignified and chaste woman?"

Marilyn turned her head to look at Lawrence, who was sitting beside her.

Lawrence, as the elder, smiled and said to Marilyn, "Marilyn, although Matthew is younger than you, what he said makes sense."

Lawrence's words instantly caused Marilyn's

heart to sink to the bottom of the valley. She realized that in the eyes of the Quesnell family, she was merely a commodity to be used in exchange for interests.

However, she had no idea what she could possibly do in that predicament.

Marilyn had asked herself more than once in her heart what exactly did she mean to the Quesnell family.

Marilyn's body involuntarily swayed. She thought,"Perhaps I have been away for too long. Isn't it time for me to return? Maybe I should have a heartfelt conversation with my parents."

With that thought in mind, Marilyn immediately booked a flight back home.

Marilyn also wondered if Robert could work a miracle tomorrow and turn the situation around.

Although Marilyn knew that it would be difficult for Zabinski Group to turn the tables under the pressure of Zabel Group's formidable capital, she still hoped that Robert could win.

The next morning, at 7:30 a. m., which was the second day of Fortuna Hall's grand opening,

even before the doors were opened, a long q ueue had already formed outside.

With the widespread word-of-mouth and media coverage from the previous day, Fortuna Hall created a buzz in Yrinas. A large number of people had come early to seek medical treatment and take advantage of potential savings of dozens, or even a few hundred dollars.

For ordinary people, those dozens or hundreds of dollars were quite a hefty expense.

Kendrick arrived early at Fortuna Hall that day as he had received news that Zabinski Group had been urgently renovating in the past few days and that Cheshire Hall was scheduled to open for business today.

As Kendrick looked at Cheshi re Hall across the street, which was still closed, a cold smirk appeared on his face. "Robert, on what grounds do you da re to challenge me? Who do you think you are?"

In just one day, Fortuna Hall was packed with customers, and the praise kept pouring in.

As Kendrick sat inside Fortuna Hall, he kept waiting for Cheshire Hall across the street to open for business. As the day grew darker, Kendrick could not help but smirk."Is Cheshire

Hall too scared to open its doors for business?"

Kendrick wasted no time in spreading the news that Cheshire Hall failed to open as scheduled.

The business community in Yrinas was not large, and this incident quickly spread and escalated.

Zabinski Group intended to compete head-on with Zabel Group, but now they did not even dare to open for business.

And the most laughable part was that Zabinski Group's heir, Robert, had angrily yelled in a hotel private room, vowing to take down Kendrick.

Zabinski Group, being led by an inexperienced youngster with an unstable approach, was seen by some as destined to fail sooner or later.

Just as Fortuna Hall finished its business for the afternoon, luxury cars began to pull up in front of the entrance. The car doors opened, and those who got out were executives or young heirs from various major companies in Yrinas.

"Congratulations, Mr. Zabel!" one of the guestsgreeted.

"Mr. Zabel, you are causing quite a sensation!

The news about Fortuna Hall is everywhere I look these days," another guest exclaimed, clearly impressed.

"Wasn't Zabinski Group supposed to opentoday? Why didn't they?" A young man cast a scornful glance at the Cheshire Hall behind him, his eyes revealing contempt.
