Chapter 146
"No. I don't want to get engaged. Robert, that'snot what you think. Listen to me. It was my parents. It was them—" Marilyn shook her head vigorously and grabbed his wrist again.
"You made your own choice," Robertinterrupted Marilyn.
Tears flowed down Marilyn's cheeks. She pursed her red lips and kept shaking her head. "No. That's not my choice. Can't you listen tome? It's really not what you think. I had never liked others. I always wanted to be with you. Robert, just give me five minutes, okay?"
Marilyn's tone gradually became anxious. She was afraid that Robert would leave suddenly.
Looking at the woman in front of him, Robert was deeply touched.
Robert tried to say calmly, "Marilyn, you are drunk. Let's talk when you sober up. You're from the Quesnell family. You can't say no to your parents' decision."
Robert then pushed Marilyn's hand away.
Marilyn's tone gradually became agitated, and she finally screamed out, "Listen to me. Please listen to me. I really don't want to be separated
from you. I've gone home. I made it clear to my parents that I want to be with you, even if they disagree. Otherwise, I won't go home. I just want to be with you. Can you listen to me? Please?"
"Marilyn! That's enough! You drank a lottoday!" Linda, who was standing aside, hurriedly walked up and pulled Marilyn away.
"No!I'm not drunk! Linda, you know that. Youknow what happened. You tell Robert that it's not what he thinks. It's not really like what he thinks!" Marilyn shook her head very crazily.
After saying that, Marilyn cried on Linda's shoulder.
Linda glanced at Robert helplessly."Robert, she is drunk, but what she said was true. I've known her for so long and never seen her like this. She broke off her relationship with her parents for you. I knew that something that had happened before would hurt you a lot, but I really hope that you'll think about it carefully if you still love Marilyn. I hope you two can stay together. It's getting late. I'll take her back first."
Linda stopped a taxi and helped Marilyn get in.
"Linda, I really don't want to be separatedfrom Robert!" Marilyn lay on Linda's body and
cried intermittently.
"Robert, we all know Marilyn. She's a goddessand a campus belle. I've never seen her freak out like this." Jeremy walked up to Robert and handed him a cigarette.
Taking the cigarette, Robert lit it and took a puff. With smoke in front of him, he stared at the taxi driving away.
"Robert, listen to me. Don't be impulsive. Juststay together if you like her, or you'll regret it. Think about it yourself. It's late. Let's go back. I'll call a driver for you." Samuel patted Robert's shoulder.
On the Lamborghini bound for Bluespring Residence, Robert sat in the passenger seat and watched the scenery outside the window. Suddenly, his phone rang.
Although Robert did not save that phone number, he was familiar with it. He could remember it from a long time ago.
A text message appeared:[Robert, let's not separate, okay? I was wrong before. I'm sorry. Let's get back together.]
