Chapter 180

Robert whipped his head around and saw a figure curled up in the shadows of the parking lot. He couldn't make out who it was, and their voice was unfamiliar.

"Who are you?" Robert frowned in vigilance.He was prepared to dash into his car to hide.

"It's me, Charles." the figure emerged from theshadows, looking extremely thin and weak.

"Charles?" Robert couldn't recall the name.

Seeing Robert's confusion, Charles hurriedly explained,"We met at the casino above Fairsaint Restaurant. I'm Naomi's acquaintance…"

Robert immediately recalled who Charles was at those words."Are you from the Hoffman family?"

"Yes, that's me." Charles nodded repeatedly."Robert, my family kicked me out after Ioffended you. I only have Hoffman to my name now. I came to look for you today because I have a few things I wish to tell you."

Robert looked around and found that Charles had been hiding like a thief. "Did you have to hide in the parking lot?" he questioned.

"I don't want anyone to know I'm here. Robert,I was blinded by Kendrick back then. There's something I want to show you," Charles explained, hurriedly taking out his phone and showing it to Robert.

Robert glanced at Charles and said, "Get in the car."

"Okay!"

Charles nodded over and over as he climbed into the passenger seat of the Lamborghini.

Robert looked at the phone Charles handed over. Charles sat at the side without saying a single word.

There were several photos on Charles's phone.

One showed the person in charge of Zabinski Group's Bay City Holiday Resort project entering a restaurant with Gilbert from Rapid Engineering and Kendrick.

Another photo showed the same restaurant. However, Carlos was now present in the image. He was not walking alongside the others but was observing them from a distance instead.

The following photos were all of Jacob and Kendrick meeting privately.

Robert swiped back to the first photo and

asked Charles,"When was this taken?"

Charles scratched his head and replied,"I forgot the exact time, but the phone's photo album should have the details on when this was taken."

Robert frantically swiped through the album. His heart jolted when he noticed the time the photo was taken.

The photo of Carlos, Gilbert, Jacob, and Kendrick was taken the same day Carlos had taken leave.

Furthermore, Robert had asked Carlos for Gilbert's contact that day, but Carlos said that Gilbert was on a plane back.

But now, the photo showed that Carlos had seen Gilbert and Kendrick together.

The sound of vehicle engines sounded from time to time in the parking lot.

The car was unbearably hot as it had been exposed to the sun for a whole day.

Robert was silent. Charles sat there, sweating profusely as he dared not open the window.

However, Robert felt cold all over. His back was damp with cold sweat.

Since the day Robert took over Zabinski Group, Zachary had told him to look for Carlos for help. He trusted Carlos unconditionally and would assign Carlos to handle many things. Robert felt confident as long as Carlos was there.

However, now that he's seen this photo, Robert couldn't understand why Carlo s would lie to him.

"If Gilbert and Jacob have connections withKendrick, what could they be conspiring in the Bay City Holiday Resort project?" Robert thought.

Robert's mind was a mess.
