Chapter 439

Samuel and the others didn't know anything about Daphne's previous moves.

Now that he heard that she would be coaching Robert, he didn't think much about it. After delivering his greetings, he left the scene. Only Robert and Daphne remained at the end.

The luxurious mansion was akin to a palace in its grandeur, and Daphne took it in with a greedy look in her eyes. She looked toward Robert and said, " What? Are we going to talk outside? Why don't you invite me in?"

As Daphne spoke, she hugged her body tightly and shrunk her neck.

" You should get back soon as well," Robert said. He really didn't have any intention to invite Daphne inside. " It's getting late. I'm fine. I was really too impulsive just now. Marilyn and I can sort out the matter between ourselves."

" Robert, we' ve known each other for so many years. You are too honest," Daphne said, reaching out and grabbing Robert's arm." Although the most important thing in a relationship is trust, we still need to employ some methods in the process of getting along."

As Daphne spoke, she stepped forward slightly and looked up at Robert with her red lips lightly pursed.

A woman's delicate face could be severely lethal to men.

Daphne exhaled gently, and the fragrance from her lips was mixed with the smell of alcohol. Her eyelashes fluttered like a silk cloth as she said," Robert, it's so cold outside. Let's go in and have a chat. I want a drink of hot water."

Robert was in a trance at that moment. Unconsciously, he wished to nod, but he quickly came to his senses and proclaimed, " Daphne, you and I are just ordinary friends. As soon as Robert finished speaking, they felt a light shining their way.

They turned around and saw that it was a taxi coming their way. Slowly, it rolled to a stop.

The door opened. Marilyn stepped out of the car and saw Robert and Daphne standing alone in front of the house. From her point of view, Daphne was being held in Robert's embrace.

They seemed as if they were about to kiss before she interrupted them.

Marilyn quietly took in the scene. She wanted Robert to clearly explain what was going on.

Robert instantly realized something was wrong. He pushed Daphne away and strode toward her, shouting, " Marilyn!"

Marilyn turned around coldly and directly got in the car. As she slammed the door closed, she said, " Driver, let's go."

The driver stopped on the accelerator and left before Robert could catch up.

Linda, who was sitting in the car, had been watching the scene unfold. She didn't know what advice to give Marilyn from there onward.

She was joking when she suggested catching him in the act of adultery. No one could imagine that Robert would really greet them at the door of his house with another woman.

When they arrived back home, everyone was well aware of how to proceed from there.

" Marilyn," Linda said as she reached out and tugged at the hem of her clothes.

Marilyn didn't respond. She just turned her head to look out of the window. In the reflection of the window, one could see glistening tears slide down her cheeks.

Linda sighed and didn't say anything more. She turned around and sent a message to Robert, asking him for an explanation.

In front of the villa, Daphne's face was mournful as she looked at Robert. She said, " Robert, I'm so sorry. I just wanted to talk to you, but she must have misunderstood something just now. Let's see, what if you let me explain to her that we are just ordinary friends?"

" No need." Robert looked annoyed as he bit out," Daphne, I know you and Boss have a history between you two. I won't venture further as it's not polite. I know you have seen a lot since you came back from the big city. Your perspective has broadened, and your thoughts are different from ours. But between Boss and I, there's purely a bond of brotherhood. I do not wish for people to try and gain benefits from us, do you understand me?"
