Chapter 335
Yana’s father wasn’t the CEO of some listed company. He was merely an executive at a branch of one.
Moreover, that branch was managed by Mason.
Speaking of which, Mason had been taking the medicine Melody prescribed for him for a week now. His condition should have improved somewhat. Melody needed to
schedule a follow-up appointment with Mason soon when she is free.
As Melody was thinking about it, the taxi came to a stop, and the driver turned to remind her, “Miss, we’re here.”
“Thanks,” Melody said, paying the fare and getting out of the car. She took a deep breath before heading to the entrance of the Fox villa, bracing herself for yet another confrontation.

In no time, Melody found herself at the gate of the Fox villa.
She looked up to see seven or eight large and small suitcases piled up by the entrance. Mabel was busy inspecting them.
Mabel and the butler, Roy, hadn’t noticed Melody standing a short distance away at the gate.
After Mabel took a look at the contents of the suitcases, greed flashed in Mabel’s eyes.
“This one, this one, and those over there. Take them all back,” Mabel said.
“The suitcases are filled with the expensive gifts Ken and Ulric gave to Melody. Now, they are all mine,’ Mabel thought to herself.
Roy hesitated, a troubled look on his face. “Miss Mabel, these suitcases belong to Miss Melody. Mr. Fox asked us to bring them out so she could take them away. Moving them back might not be appropriate.”
It was not that Roy wanted to speak up for Melody, but he was poisoned by Melody and didn’t dare to defend her.
Mabel frowned, shooting Roy a cold glare. “Don’t use Dad to pressure me! Dad did say to pack up Melody’s things and throw her out. But these gifts were given to Melody when she was still in the Fox family. Now that Melody’s been kicked out, she has no right to take anything with her.”
Roy was torn, but reluctantly suggested, “Maybe we should wait for Miss Melody to come back before making a decision.”
“What do you mean by that?” Mabel asked suspiciously, scrutinizing Roy. “You’re not bought off by Melody like the way she bribed Hattie, are you? Remember Hattie’s fate? If you don’t want to end up like her, you’d better move these things to my room now!”
Roy was scared and was about to comply when he heard a cold voice. “Hattie’s fate? Mabel, what’s that supposed to mean?”
Mabel subconsciously looked up in the direction of the voice.
When she saw Melody approaching, a cold sweat broke out on Mabel’s forehead.
‘Damn it! When did this ugly bitch get here?’ Mabel thought.
Mabel quickly averted her gaze, stammering. “You misheard. I didn’t mention Hattic…”
“Really?” Melody eyed Mabel from head to toe.
Mabel swallowed hard, guilt gnawing at her.
If Melody found out about Hattie, things would get messy.
Gritting her teeth, Mabel suddenly remembered the main issue at hand and smirked coldly. “Oh, by the way, did you know? Because you lost the bet-on agreement, Dad’s furious. Your things have been packed and are here. From today on, you’re no longer part of the Fox family. Get lost!”
After saying that, Mabel waited for Melody to panic, but instead, Melody remained calm, even smiling.
Irritated, Mabel snapped and asked, “How can you still smile?”
“Why shouldn’t I smile? Dad just misunderstood. Once we clear it up, he’ll let me back,” Melody said.
“He misunderstood?” Mabel sneered. “There’s no misunderstanding here. You willingly participated in the bet-on agreement, and now that you have lost, you’re still claiming it was a misunderstanding? Melody, you’d better leave now before you get another beating.”
While speaking, Mabel commanded Roy to take the suitcases she had pointed out inside.
Melody, expressionless, sat on one of the suitcases and said, “These are my things. You have no right to take them.”
“Your things?” Mabel laughed. “You’re no longer part of the Fox family. How can these still be yours? From now on, they’re mine. Now get up!”
With that, Mabel reached out to pull Melody off the suitcase.
But when Mabel touched Melody, Melody swiftly pinned Mabel down on the suitcase with a deft move.
Mabel screamed in pain, shouting, “Ouch! Let go of me, you bitch! Do you have a death wish?”
Mabel struggled, but she was no match for Melody’s strength. All Mabel could do was glare at Melody with eyes full of venom, looking like she wanted to tear Melody apart.
Melody wasn’t angry at all. She enjoyed seeing Mabel frustrated yet powerless.
Smirking, Melody said, “I’ll let you go, but remember that no one can touch my stuff without my permission.”
With that, Melody released her grip, causing Mabel to fall to the ground.
“Ouch!” Mabel winced in pain, taking a sharp breath.
As the pain subsided a bit, Mabel started yelling, “Dad! Mom! Help! Melody’s attacking me!”
Hearing Mabel’s cries for help, Roy felt things were getting worse. He gave Melody a look, urging Melody to leave while she still could.
Melody caught his glance. But instead of leaving, Melody said, “Roy, please call Dad. I want to get to the bottom of this.”
“Quick! Go get Dad!” Mabel remained on the ground, urging Roy to call for help.
Roy was puzzled by Melody’s decision to stay but, knowing Melody to be clever from previous encounters, trusted she had a plan. Roy hurried into the villa.
Seeing Roy rush to get help, Mabel smirked triumphantly. “Melody, you’re done for! I gave you a chance to leave, and you didn’t take it. Don’t blame me now.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t,” Melody replied, her gaze calm and cold.
Melody was clear-headed, but this drama needed Russell, the main character, to be complete.
Mabel, unnerved by Melody’s composure, started to feel uneasy.
‘Why isn’t this bitch scared? Something’s off… Mabel thought.
Before Mabel could figure it out, Russell and Yolanda arrived at the scene.
Mabel immediately pinched her own thigh, the pain bringing tears to her eyes instantly.
Yolanda, seeing Mabel on the ground in tears, rushed over, her protective instincts kicking in. “Mabel!” Yolanda cried, running to Mabel’s side. “Mabel, are you okay? Did Melody hit you?”
Mabel wailed, making sure Russell could hear as she deliberately raised her voice and said, “I told Melody she made a mistake and suggested she find somewhere else to stay until Dad calmed down. But Melody just hit me without a word. She almost broke my hand.”
Mabel put on a dramatic show as if she was extremely sad, tears streaming down her pretty face, looking pitiful.
Seeing Mabel cry, even Roy, who knew the backstory, felt a pang of sympathy.
“Mabel, get up. I’m sure your dad will make things right for you,” Yolanda said, helping Mabel to her feet and then turning to Russell. “Russell, look at what Melody’s done. She’s only been back in Silverlake for a short time, and she’s already hitting and yelling at her own sister. How can this go on? You need to make Melody give Mabel an explanation!”
