Chapter 362

Ander Morgan was already feeling impatient.

Regardless of his own feelings, Ander knew that Russell Fox was still Melody Fox’s biological father after all. Thus, Ander could only patiently accept the paper thrust at him by Russell.

After Russell’s rough handling, the paper looked terribly wrinkled.

Ander glanced at it without much patience. In the next second, his eyes lit up.

“This… this is…”

Russell was about to say that this was some gibberish written by Melody.

However, in the next second, Ander looked at Mabel with shining eyes and asked, “Did you solve this question?”

Mabel instinctively wanted to say “no” but she realized that Ander seemed to be unusually excited. Thus, she did not deny it immediately. Instead, she asked vaguely, “Is there a problem?”

With such a vague answer, if the thing written on the paper was something awful, Mabel could simply deny that she penned it and that it was actually written by Melody.

As soon as Mabel said this, Ander revealed a look of joy and said, “Amazing! This is truly amazing!”

Puzzled, Russell asked, “Professor Morgan, what do you mean?”

Ander looked at Russell enviously and said. “Mr. Fox, you’re so fortunate! These two daughters of yours are so outstanding! As if it isn’t enough that Melody’s medical skills are superb and a rarity, your other daughter is actually not far behind at all.”

Mabel’s eyelids twitched as speculation began swirling in her mind.

In the next second. Ander continued, “Mr. Fox, I guess you are probably not aware? This question is the one I issued to Mabel’s instructor. If she can solve it, there’s a high chance that she can enter our laboratory. In the end, not only did Mabel solve it, but she also came up with a solution I had never seen before! It’s so novel and unique, and such an intelligent solution! With her ability, she can definitely join my team!”

“Er… er…” As Russell reeled from the shock, his expression was full of conflicting emotions.

That was because this question was not solved by Mabel but by Melody!

Before he kicked the door open, he saw Melody scribbling away furiously on that piece of paper!

Mabel also appeared somewhat conflicted.

She also suspected that what Melody had written was the method to solve her question.

Yet who could have foreseen that her suspicion turned out to be true?

Mabel herself could not figure out this question at all!

Could it be that the guy on the black market forum was actually Melody Fox?

Surely not…

Nevertheless, Mabel was very happy because Ander finally looked her in the eye.

The expressions of both father and daughter grew increasingly conflicted but at this moment, Ander was completely immersed in the joy of discovering another genius and did not notice the expressions on their faces.

Ander carefully read through the solution on the paper again. Then, he looked at Mabel with approval and said, “The day after tomorrow is the time to hand in the solution. I see that you’ve basically solved the bulk of the question. You’ll definitely be able to finish it in two days. I think very highly of you. When the time comes, I’ll personally come to your school to collect the papers. I’m looking forward to seeing how you solve the remaining half of the question.”

When Mabel heard this, the joy in her heart instantly vanished.

Remaining half?

That piece of paper was already filled with writing, yet the solution was not complete?

How could Mabel possibly know how to solve the remaining half of the question?

However, she could not voice out her thoughts in front of Ander. She could only try her best to maintain a smile and say, “Sure. I’ll definitely finish the remaining steps as soon as possible.”

“Good, very good!”

After a few more words of praise, Ander took the initiative to exchange contact information with Mabel.

Ander was someone who cherished talent. After saving Mabel’s phone number, he said, “After you solve it, call me first. You don’t have to wait for 10 days. I’ll go to school with you and let your instructor witness that moment. After all, other than you, I suspect no one else can solve this problem. On top of that, you came up with such an unprecedented solution.”

Mabel nodded with a strained smile. “…Sure.”

“That’s all for now. I do have a lot of things to deal with today. Call me when you are ready.”

Ander waved and said goodbye to Mabel in a good mood.

After Ander left, Russell and Mabel stared at each other and suddenly became tongue-tied, even though there were so many things they wanted badly to say to each other earlier.

After a while, Russell finally uttered, “Have you solved that question?”

Mabel’s heart skipped a beat as she replied, “I’m on the verge of solving it too. It’s just that my methodology is different from Melody’s.”

“That’s good!” Russell heaved a sigh of relief without realizing why.

He patted Mabel’s shoulder proudly as he said, “Looks like my genes are pretty good!”

The corners of Mabel’s mouth twitched uncontrollably. She asked tentatively, “Then regarding that piece of paper just now… Do we have to tell Professor Morgan the truth?”

“Of course not!” Russell’s temples bulged a few times. “Although I don’t know how Melody came up with this solution since Ander has now determined that you came up with this solution, then let it be! Anyway, Melody has already done him a favor. There’s no point in explaining any further. It’s better that you just take this opportunity to join Ander’s team.”

In this way, they would have the best of both worlds.

Next, Russell asked again. “There’s only half of the solution written here. Are you able to complete the remaining half?”

Mabel did not dare to admit that she did not understand any of the steps at all.

Nonetheless, she braced herself and lied, “I can solve it, but it will take some time…”

“Two days should be enough, right?”

Mabel answered through gritted teeth, “It’s enough.”

“Good. Then keep this piece of paper. After attending the cocktail party tonight, don’t worry about anything else. Finish up the remaining half first.”

“Okay…”

“Alright. Quickly get in touch with Ulric and ask him to get you an invitation. I have to open a bottle of wine to celebrate the happy occasion today!”

Mabel nodded silently and went upstairs with the paper absent-mindedly.

After entering her room, Mabel sat on the sofa for a long time before she managed to digest the earlier information.

She was no longer in the mood to feel envious of the sports car. What she cared about the most now was the answer sheet in her hand.

She could not help wondering whether that person on the forum was really Melody.

After all, Melody had said that she was helping her “friend” solve the question but Melody did not have any friends from Mabel’s school.

After pondering for a while, Mabel logged into the forum and began to message privately the whiz she liaised with earlier.

“Whiz, are you online?”

Melody’s phone and computer had already been

confiscated by Dad. If the whiz was able to reply to her now, it meant that Melody Fox was not the whiz.

After sending the private message, Mabel pressed her palms together and closed her eyes, praying that Melody wasn’t the whiz.

If, however, it turned out that the whiz was Melody, then Mabel wouldn’t know who to approach to help her complete the remaining steps of the solution.
