When they were still worried that punishment would ensue, Mabel stuffed the earrings into their hands and left.

The two servants were even more surprised and started gossiping.

Melody was on a call in her room. She was quietly instructing James to help her find someone and collect all the illegal things that this person had done over the years.

After the call, she did not feel sleepy at all and started packing her luggage overnight. She didn’t change into pajamas and go to bed until dawn.

In the blink of an eye, the next day, Melody was woken up by the noise outside.

She had slept very lightly today. When she was half-asleep, she heard voices outside.

“Hattie, Is Marie awake? Many people have come to celebrate Mrs. Fox’s birthday outside. Mr. Fox is welcoming them. He sent me over to ask Maria what to do now.”

After hearing this, Melody quickly got up and walked out of her room.

“Hattie, what happened?” Melody asked.

Hattie stopped in her tracks and asked the servant to return to the living room first. She walked a few steps to Melody.

“Ms. Melody Fox, today is Mrs. Fox’s birthday. Those people are here to wish her a happy birthday. In the past, the family would hold a birthday banquet for her. This year, they have already got everything ready, but now… she is still locked in the abandoned garage.”

After washing up, Melody called James. “Hey, did you do what I asked you to do last night?”

James sounded exhausted. “It’s done. He told me everything. I didn’t sleep a wink for that. You owe me big-time.

Melody raised his eyebrows and said, “I remember now. Is there something you didn’t do as promised?”

“What is it?”

“Take Janet out for a checkup without her knowledge.”

James indeed had forgotten about this. He sighed and replied, “Wit until tomorrow. It’s been a long day.”

“Sure.” Then Melody gave James some more details before hanging up and walking out.

As soon as she went out, she heard Maria’s voice.

“Remember to let her freshen up in my room, then go out the back door and come in through the front door,” Maria said on her way to the living room.

“Got it, Mrs. Fox,” Hattie replied.

Maria grunted. She turned around and met Melody’s clear eyes.
