For a moment, Melody began to wonder if she was really an ominous jinx like what Janet and the Fox family said.

Melody’s eyes stung again, but this time, she did not cry. Instead, she secretly made a decision. After repaying the favor she owed Ken, she would no longer have anything to do with him.

When Ken heard this, he immediately frowned.

He was not as kind as Melody. He did not care if this child was dead or alive. He went back to save him purely because he knew that Melody would do that.

The middle-aged woman’s face alternated between red and white. She was extremely embarrassed.

The little boy pushed his mother away unhappily and said with a frown, “Mom, if you don’t apologize to that lady, I won’t talk to you anymore!”

The boy’s childish words made the woman feel even more ashamed.
