Chapter 511
Melody stopped talking, but her eyes narrowed coldly, thinking, ‘Sid was so badly injured, but Janet was only hit on the back of her head?’
She had thought Janet would be the traitor but did not expect something to happen to Sid.
However, after thinking about it, Melody still did not say that she suspected Janet. She just followed in silence.
‘Ken probably can’t care less who the traitor is at this juncture. It’s more important to save Sid. We must save him. He must know something, such as who hurt him,’ Melody thought.
As the car sped along, Melody was not idle either. She searched for the latest news about Averi’s flight on her phone. The news was updating the progress of the search and rescue on the flight.
Regrettably, officials have announced that all passengers and crew members on the flight were not spared. All had lost their lives in this disaster.
Melody closed her eyes. Her heart was filled with endless anger and self-blame.
‘I’m the one who saved Averi, and I’m the one who caused her death. Perhaps Yolanda was right. I’m a jinx. I can only bring disaster to the people around me.’ With this thought in mind, Melody could not help but look sideways at Ken.
His originally black and white eyes were now filled with red blood vessels. His hands were tightly clenched into fists. She could see the veins on his arms bulging from clenching his fists too hard.
She had never seen Ken reveal such an expression. It was so uncomfortable that her heart skipped a beat.
She did not know when it started, but his emotions directly affected her heart.
Melody could not help but clench her fists as well.

About twenty minutes later, the car stopped at the entrance of a small hospital. According to the coordinates James gave, Sid and Janet were resuscitated and treated here.
Ken opened the car door and went to the emergency room.
His leg was fractured, but he was running faster than Melody.
Melody believed her speed had surpassed ordinary people, but she could not catch up to Ken now.
Fortunately, the resuscitation room was on the first floor.
James had been telling Ken about Sid’s situation when Melody arrived there.
Melody quickened her pace and walked up to the two of them. She heard James say quickly, “This hospital often receives car accident patients, so they happen to have a few bags of RH-negative blood. However, Mr. Quant has lost too much blood. I’m afraid this bit of blood is not enough.”
“Have you contacted the other hospitals?” Ken asked. James nodded. “Yes, but we only found a few blood bags. We might have to find people with the same blood type alive.”
“Then look for it! No matter what compensation they want, I’ll satisfy them all as long as they can come over immediately and give blood to Sid.”
“Okay.”
Melody was about to walk into the resuscitation room to check on the situation when she suddenly stopped in her tracks. She looked at Ken and said, “I remember someone who also has Rh-negative blood.”
“Who?” Ken asked,
“Zara. She mentioned to me by chance that she has Rh- Rh-negative blood,” Melody said as she dialed Zara’s number.
After two rings, Zara picked up. She seemed to be on set. The voice on the other end of the phone was noisy.
“Melody, why did you suddenly call me?” Zara asked.
Sid did not have much time left. Melody told Zara her request in the shortest terms.
When Zara heard this, she agreed without thinking. She said, “Alright, tell me the address. I’ll come over now.”
“Thank you…” said Melody.
“We’re friends. Besides, you’ve helped me before.”
“Yeah! We’re at…” Melody gave the hospital’s address and hung up the phone. She said to Ken, “Please wait for Zara at the door. I’ll go into the operating theater to check on the situation first. And James needs to contact the person in charge of this hospital. I’m afraid the doctors inside won’t let me participate in the rescue.”
“No problem.” Ken and James agreed at the same time.
The three of them did their jobs. Melody changed into sterile clothes in the medical corridor and quickly entered the resuscitation room.
In the resuscitation room, disinfectant mixed with the smell of blood. The smell was unbearable, but Melody did not even frown as she went to the operating table.
She looked up at the detector connected to Sid. The instrument showed that Sid had low body values.
His left and right hands were receiving blood transfusions, but the value did not increase at all.
The group of people did not notice Melody. They only saw the doctor in the lead check on Sid and heard him say, “He injured his heart. He has to undergo surgery immediately. Go outside and get the family members to sign it. After signing it, we’ll carry out the surgery, and there won’t be a dispute if we can’t save him.”
The assistant beside him said hesitantly, “Dr. Russo, the patient was sent by his friends. I’m afraid his family is not around. The situation is so urgent. Why don’t we operate first?”
“No! From his clothes, I can tell that his identity isn’t ordinary. If something happens, I won’t be able to bear the responsibility. Moreover, there are not enough blood bags. To put it bluntly, this bit of blood won’t last until we finish the surgery.”
Melody was about to go forward and communicate with the doctor about Sid’s condition. When she heard this, she immediately stopped in her tracks.
The doctor continued, “Instead of undergoing this impossible surgery, we might as well return this problem to them. Tsk, I’m unlucky to encounter such a surgery that will fail in a row.
The assistants and surgical nurses looked at each other, and the operating theater fell into an awkward silence.
Adrian also realized he had misspoken and accidentally said what was on his mind. He rubbed his nose and coughed dryly. “What are you waiting for? Go out and tell his friends.”
The assistants and nurses were unhappy but did not dare to refute. However, no one was willing to go against their conscience and say those words to the patient’s friends.
“You guys…-
Just as Adrian was about to curse, a cold voice filled with displeasure sounded. “Dr. Russo, right? You asked the family to sign it to give you a reason not to operate so you won’t get implicated? Where’s your professional ethics as a doctor? You’re not worthy of being a doctor at all. No, you’re not even worthy of being a human.”
The sudden scolding stunned Adrian. Who dared to scold me like that?”
He looked furiously in the direction of the voice, only to see it was a stranger he had never seen before.
‘Is she new here? How dare a newcomer say that about me? Does she not want to do it anymore? Adrian’s expression became even darker as he thought. His eyes burned with anger as he questioned, “What does a newcomer like you know? How did you get in? Who let you in? Get out of here quickly. If you continue talking nonsense here, I’ll let you leave immediately.”
Melody narrowed her eyes coldly and said. “You’re the one who should leave. Get out of my sight before I get angry.”
“You…” Adrian was furious. He took a few steps forward and reached out to slap Melody.
However, as soon as he raised his hand, Melody grabbed it tightly.
The next second, Melody turned around and kicked him in the back.
Adrian was caught off guard and fell to his knees. His knees hit the ground with a dull thud.
“Hiss…” Adrian was in so much pain that tears flew out of his eyes.
He was even more exasperated and shouted, “Are you all blind? Hurry up and catch her.”
