Chapter 531

“Zaza…” Melody called softly as she entered the room. Over the past couple of days, their bond had grown stronger.

When she stepped in, Zara was deeply focused, using pen and paper to write something.

“What are you up to?” Melody asked, intrigued by Zara’s serious expression as she approached.

Zara immediately put down her pen when she heard Melody’s voice. “I just watched a classic movie and picked up some tips on acting. I was afraid I’d forget them, so I wrote down a little bit.”

Melody glanced at the desk and couldn’t help but be astonished.

This wasn’t just “a little bit.” Zara had filled four or five A4 pages. Melody was increasingly convinced that Zara resembled herself from her previous life in many ways.

“You should be resting this morning, but you’re working instead,” Melody said with a hint of exasperation.

“Don’t worry. If I feel tired, I’ll stop and rest,” Zara replied with a playful tongue-out gesture. She suddenly remembered the incident in the hall earlier and asked, “Did those two scammers leave?”

Melody was surprised. “How did you know about that?”

Zara replied, “The staff told me. They were quite angry when they mentioned it.”

Melody chuckled. “They’ve already left. I’m here because I need to borrow something.”

“What do you need? I can give you for free!” To Zara, Melody was not only someone who had helped her out of difficult situations multiple times but also her only friend in Silverlake.

Melody said, “You don’t have to. I just need to borrow some makeup.”

When meeting Owen, Melody was using the alias Wilona Knowles and had altered her appearance with makeup, so cosmetics were essential.

Although she had makeup at Serenity Villa, she only had an hour before her appointment. Making a trip there would be too rushed.

“Makeup? I thought you didn’t like wearing makeup. I have a full set with me…” Zara began pulling out various items from her bag.

Melody looked at the array of cosmetics and felt a bit overwhelmed. She rarely wore makeup and wasn’t even sure where some of these products should be applied.

Zara noticed her hesitation and said, “Let me do it for you! I might not be good at many things, but I can do makeup pretty well.”

Melody smiled. “Alright then! Just do the top half of my face.”

Zara was puzzled by this unusual request. “Why only half?”

“Well…”

“No need to explain if you don’t want to. But I’m not used to doing just half a face. How about this? I’ll do the whole face first, and then you can wipe off the bottom half with makeup remover.”

“Sounds good.” Melody agreed, trusting Zara with her face.

Zara’s makeup skills were impressive and quick, a talent she had honed during her early days in the industry.

In less than fifteen minutes, she was down to the final step, applying lipstick. Just as Melody was about to say it wasn’t necessary, she noticed Zara staring at her, completely entranced.

“Zaza, what’s wrong?” Melody asked, puzzled.

But Zara didn’t respond. She continued to stare at Melody as if she had just seen something incredible.

Melody frowned and waved her hand in front of Zara’s eyes. “Zaza?”

Zara finally snapped out of her daze, pointing at Melody with a look of disbelief. “Melody, you… you… you…”

She stammered for a while, unable to form a complete sentence. It wasn’t her fault. Melody’s transformation was genuinely shocking.

The person standing before her was almost unrecognizable from the one she had seen just moments before.

Melody’s lips were naturally red, her eyes radiated a striking brilliance, and the foundation had covered the red blotches on her skin, revealing her originally near-perfect features. She was truly a sight to behold.

Melody quickly realized why Zara was acting this way. She touched her face and half-jokingly asked, “What, did I mesmerize you?”

Zara nodded vigorously. “Melody, you look stunning! You’re gorgeous! If you joined the entertainment industry, you’d be a million times more famous than me… no, you’d become an instant sensation! Other actresses won’t stand a chance!”

“You’re exaggerating…” Melody said.

But Zara shook her head. “No! I’m not exaggerating! It’s so strange. How did I not notice how beautiful you are before?”

Melody shrugged. Because of those terrifying red blotches, people’s first impression was that she was unattractive, so they never really paid attention to her features.

Moreover, the toxins in her body had made her facial features larger than they originally were. With makeup and subtly correcting the flaws, she naturally appeared very different from her usual self.

Once the toxins were fully purged, her features would be even more refined, several times over.

Of course, Melody wouldn’t tell Zara these things. Instead, she said, “Alright, my appointment is coming up soon. Could you hand me the makeup remover? I’ll take off some of the makeup.”

Zara was reluctant to see her hard work undone, but she understood that Melody had her reasons and didn’t press further. She quickly handed over the makeup remover.

A few minutes later, Melody had removed most of the makeup, leaving only her eye makeup intact. Even so, the difference from her usual appearance, marred by red blotches, was significant.

Zara sighed regretfully. “You were a perfect ten just now, but now you’re down to a six. You’ve got such a great canvas. You should wear makeup more often.”

Melody smiled and said, “I know. But maybe in a little while, I won’t need makeup at all.”

Zara asked, “What do you mean by that?”

Melody teased her with a grin, “You’ll see when the time comes!”

She checked the time on her wrist and said, “I’ve got forty minutes left. I should get going. When I get back, we’ll have a meal together, and I’ll take you to the set.”

Zara was curious why Melody would allow others to think she was unattractive when she had a beautiful foundation, but she held back her questions. She believed Melody had her reasons for everything she did.

She nodded. “I’ll wait for you.”

“Alright.” Melody ruffled Zara’s hair and then left.

The driver Ken had arranged was already waiting at the entrance of Herbathrive. The off-road vehicle, which resembled an armored car, caught everyone’s attention.

The staff at Herbathrive were shocked when they saw Melody get into the vehicle.

“Who exactly is Miss Fox? The sports car she drove last time was a limited edition, and this one is even more…”

One of the less car-savvy staff members asked, “Is this one more expensive than the last?”

“I see you’re clueless. The cost of modifying this car alone could buy that sports car from before.”

“No way!”

“Ahem!” David cleared his throat as he approached. “Do you have

nothing to do? There’s a whole batch of herbs that just arrived in the

backyard. If you’re so idle, go sort them out!”

The crowd at the entrance quickly dispersed.

Meanwhile, the car carrying Melody arrived at Owen’s house half an hour later. However…
