Chapter 562
Cadence tried her best to hide the ecstasy in her eyes. She pretended to be anxious and said, “So come up with me right now! Nothing matters more than life. Time can’t be delayed!”
“Got it.” Melody was still expressionless as she walked towards the spiral staircase.
Ruby subconsciously wanted to follow. Melody seemed to have sensed something and turned to look at Ruby. “Wait for me downstairs and call an ambulance.”
“But you-” Ruby was still worried about her.
“I can do it myself. You just got pregnant, so it’s not convenient for you to see that kind of scene.” Melody held her shoulder.
Cadence hurriedly said, “So Mrs. Taylor, you’re pregnant. Then don’t go up. It won’t be good if it’s an infectious disease.”
Hearing the words “infectious disease”, Ruby immediately stopped in her tracks.
During that moment of hesitation, Melody had already walked towards the stairs. Ruby gritted her teeth and could only stay where she was and call the ambulance.
After that, Ruby paused for a moment. Considering that there were so many people present, if something really happened to Mabel, they might think that Melody did not do her job well as a doctor.
At the thought of this, she gritted her teeth and walked to the corner to call Mason. “Hey, hubby. Miss Fox and Ken seem to be friends, right?”
“No, they are not friends.” Although Mason did not know why Ruby asked this, he still answered truthfully, “A friend of mine went to Naymar Manor a few days ago to attend Ford Nelson’s birthday banquet. He heard that Ken said that he and Melody had registered their marriage. So they are a couple.”
Ruby’s eyes widened in shock. “So they…”
“Why are you asking about this?” Mason was confused.
Ruby suddenly recovered from her shock and said, “Don’t worry about this. Do you have Ken’s number? Miss Fox is in trouble. If he can do something, the problem can definitely be resolved.”
“I don’t have his contact information, but I do have the number of a friend of his. I’ll send the number to you. Oh, right, her name is Janet Murphy.”
“Alright, give it to me as soon as possible.” Ruby was quite anxious.
About two minutes later, Janet, who had just woken up from the tranquilizer, suddenly received a call. After hearing what the other party said, she pursed her lips coldly and looked at James, who was guarding the door. She lowered her voice. “Alright, I’ll tell Ken now and ask him to go there.”

The second floor of that Floassian restaurant was more like a star hotel with grand decorations. There were even specific areas for coffee, massage, and some other leisure activities.
Melody followed Cadence all the way through the leisure area and arrived at the door of a room.
“She’s in there.” Cadence opened the door and led the way in.
Melody took a hesitant step into the room. As expected, Mabel was lying on the ground, foaming at the mouth, her two feet kicking the air desperately as if there was an invisible hand holding her throat tightly, making her unable to breathe.
Surprise flashed across Melody’s eyes when she saw this scene. Before she got there, she thought that this might be a cover and Mabel might not have any problems at all. But the scene before made her doubt her suspicion.
However, Melody quickly adjusted her mind. She strode over to Mabel and squatted down, reaching out to check her pulse, tongue, and eyelids.
“What happened to Mabel? Why did she suddenly become like this? What illness does she have?” Cadence threw out a series of questions.
Melody did not look at her. She calmly took out the kit and said, “Poisoned.”
“What? Poisoned?” Cadence was shocked, “What kind of poison? Is it contagious?”
“No, it’s just an ordinary poison, which can be solved very quickly,” Melody said confidently.
“That’s good…” Cadence let out a sigh of relief as she glanced at the servant following behind her, who nodded and quietly left.
Melody did not notice the change in the person behind her back as she was focused on treating Mabel. If Mabel died, she would be the first person to clap her hands in joy. However, Mabel could not die now, let alone in front of her because she would undoubtedly be the biggest suspect. Those “rats” in the darkness would be the first to jump out and push the blame for Mabel’s death onto her.
After all, everything just happened so coincidental. They had a meal in the same restaurant and had just quarreled, not to mention their previous animosities.
Fortunately, this poison was an ordinary type and could be expelled from Mabel’s body quickly.
Melody’s mind was racing. At the same time, her hands did not stop operating, not even for a second. In less than a minute, the needles had already pierced into all the acupoints on Mabel’s body and made her look like a hedgehog.
Cadence put away the cold smile on her lips and squatted beside Melody. “How many minutes will it take?”
“Ten minutes.” Melody was staring at Mabel.
“Wow? So fast? She’ll recover in ten minutes?” Cadence exclaimed.
“Yes, remove the needle in ten minutes,” Melody patiently explained to Cadence as she placed her right hand on the acupoint on her wrist.
“You’re not a good person, but your medical skills are not bad.” Cadence did not notice Melody’s actions and
continued to talk to her. “Although we had a conflict before, I admit that I was the one who let Lucky bite you first…”
As time passed, Cadence was still talking in a seemingly friendly tone as if she wanted to make peace with Melody. About five minutes later, Cadence suddenly stopped rambling. Then she stood up and stared at Melody with a weird look.
Melody revealed a puzzled expression and asked, “Why are you looking at me?”
The corners of Cadence’s lips curled up slyly. “What do you think? So stupid.”
“What do you mean?” Melody stood up. Suddenly, her footsteps swayed, and she felt like she could not stand steadily. She seemed to realize something and abruptly looked at Cadence. “You…” As soon as the word “you” left her mouth, she leaned back and fell heavily to the ground. She tried to get up, but she couldn’t muster any strength in her limbs.
“What did you do to me?” Even her voice was weak and hoarse as if she had run out of all her energy.
Seeing this, Cadence laughed complacently. “Bitch! You’ve finally got into it! It’s never too late to take revenge! Back then, you actually dared to let Ken send me to an asylum. You should have known that I would fight back!”
Melody gritted her teeth. “You… poisoned my food…”
“Food? Idiot! It’s not the food at all, nor the bottle of wine. The problem is the glass the attendant gave you!” Cadence revealed an arrogant smile. If she poisoned food or wine, Ruby would also be hurt. Cadence would never be so stupid to plot against Ruby because that meant offending the Taylor family.
“You didn’t expect this, right? What an idiot! You won’t be able to feel anything soon. Then, guess what I’m going to do to you? I’ll get a man here and show your slutty appearance in front of everyone! Then… let him kill you! So when you die, everyone will spit on your grave! You’re just a shameless bitch!” Cadence threw her head back and laughed wildly.
Melody opened her mouth and wanted to curse back, but her eyelids trembled and she fainted immediately.
