Chapter 627

Melody turned around and met Russell’s disgusted face. He looked as if he wanted everyone passing to know he hated her.

In the past, Melody would be sad when she saw him like that. However, she had already cut off all ties with Russell in her heart. Therefore, facing Russell’s disgust, she did not feel anything. However, she noticed his eyes became even colder.

“Why? Is there a rule to stop me from entering? Or is there a law that states so?” she asked.

“I’m your father. How can you talk to me like that?” Russell snapped, purple in the face with fury.

Melody was amused. “Father? Mr. Fox, you’re really forgetful. Have you forgotten that I’m no longer your daughter?”

“You-” Russell raised his hand to slap Melody. However, he couldn’t do it as he cared about how others thought of him. Those who could eat at Blue Moon Lounge were either rich or powerful, and there were people he knew.

Seeing the gossipy gazes of the passers-by, Russell could only try his best to restrain himself and put down his hand.

“Melody, this is not a place for someone like you. Leave before I lose my temper,” he warned.

Melody raised her eyebrows in amusement. “What can you do if I refuse?”

“Damned girl.” The veins on Russell’s forehead bulged as he warned her in a voice that only the two of them could hear.

“Don’t think Ken will back you up now because he likes you. Go back and look at yourself in the mirror. With that ugly face of yours, which man would want you?

“I’ve already asked around. To resist his father, he treats you as a pawn in the game between him and Mr. Ramon.

“Since you’re a pawn, you’ll be abandoned sooner or later. I advise you to be careful. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being rude to you.”

Melody was stunned, and her eyes narrowed threateningly. “Whatever you say, I have to go in today,” she replied.

She had always known that Russell was not a good person, much less a good father. However, Russell’s acts always turned her world upside down again.

Melody didn’t want to waste her time with Russell anymore. She stepped forward and was about to walk inside.

However, Russell was afraid that she would ruin his plan. He caught up with her and said to the usher at the door, “This woman wants to cause trouble inside. Please chase her away immediately.”

The usher recognized Melody at a glance. At noon today, Ken brought her here for a meal. Moreover, Moon personally received her warmly. Even if he had a bad memory, he could not have failed to recognize Melody as Moon’s special guest.

The usher looked at Melody with anxiety and hesitantly said to Russell, “Sir, this should be a misunderstanding. She-“

Before he could finish speaking, a puzzled voice sounded behind him. “Mr. Fox, what happened?”

Melody subconsciously turned her head and saw Mason coming from the shop opposite. Russell thought they did not know each other, so he said, “President Taylor, here is the thing. This woman is hell-bent on causing trouble here. Let me bring you into the private room first so she won’t ruin your mood.”

Mason looked at Russell in disbelief. He knew about the relationship between Melody and Russell. Mason had wanted a child for a long time. He could not understand why Russell would treat Melody with such an attitude.

Just as Mason was about to speak up for her, she shook her head at him, reminding him not to say anything else.

Although Mason could not guess why she did this, he bit back his words.

Russell did not notice the eye contact between them. He even glared at Melody and warned her to get lost.

Melody smiled faintly and did not say anything else. Russell thought that she had given up, so he was slightly relieved. He looked up at the usher and said, “Just ignore her. Bring my guest to the private room I booked. My name is Russell Fox. I booked the private room yesterday.”

“Hold on. Let me check,” the usher replied. He quickly searched on the tablet. After a while, he asked with a puzzled expression, “Sir, are you sure you left this name?”

“I’m sure. I booked the room myself.” To avoid unpleasant surprises, Russell didn’t even ask his secretary to do this.

“Wait a minute. I’ll check again.” A few seconds later, the usher looked at Russell again.

“Sir, are you sure it succeeded?”

When Russell saw Mason staring at him suspiciously, Russell shot the usher a glare. “Of course, I’ve already said that I’ve made a reservation and it succeeded. Stop this nonsense. If you ask again, I’ll file a complaint against you.”

Russell’s attitude was driving the usher crazy. The usher pulled a long face and said, “Sir, Blue Moon Lounge only accepts customers with reservations. Your reservation isn’t here.”

Russell’s face darkened and then he looked at Mason awkwardly. “President Taylor, wait a minute. They must have made a mistake. I really made an appointment.”

When Mason saw that Melody was not in a hurry, he remained calm. He only waved his hand and said to Russell, “Then ask again.”

“Yes, yes.” Russell nodded repeatedly. Then, he said to the usher even more angrily, “Check again. I’m sure I made an appointment.”

The usher patiently checked again and still couldn’t find his reservation. But this time, the usher found something different.

“Sir, the system shows that you attempted to make an appointment yesterday but failed. Please come back another day,” the usher said.

“W-what? Failed? That’s impossible. I received the message…” Russell opened his phone as he spoke. He had read the first one notifying him of successful reservation-making but missed the second message of failure.

“How could this happen?” Russell mumbled.

The usher had already seen the message with his sharp eyes. His expression became even colder as he said, “I’ve already said I don’t have your reservation info here.”

“Alright…” Russell was in a dilemma. He invited Mason here because he wanted Mason to help him with something. Mason would be dissatisfied if he suddenly decided to find another place. That meant a smaller chance to get Mason’s help.

Thinking of this, Russell could only brace himself and ask the usher, “May I ask if any guests with reservations failed to come at the last minute? Can you give me their table?”

The usher said without hesitation, “No.”

“You…” Although Russell was angry, there was nothing he could do.

He could only ask Mason awkwardly, “President Taylor, I apologize for this small problem at the last minute. It’s all my fault. Can you let me make it up to you and take you to a higher-end restaurant?”

At this moment, Ruby came over with a pale face. It was obvious that morning sickness and the car ride made her very uncomfortable.

Hearing Russell’s words, she immediately frowned and complained, “Didn’t we agree to eat here? Why are we going to another place?”
