Chapter 710
Melody was running out of patience. “Get out of my way,” she said, squinting coldly.
Stella was shocked by her gaze but quickly became even more furious.
“Get out of your way?” said Stella. “Who do you think you are? Do you think I’ll get out of your way just because you tell me so? Do you know who I am? How dare you speak to me like that!”
“I have no interest in who you are. If you don’t get out of my way on the count of three, I promise you’ll regret it.”
Number Spencer raised his chest cooperatively with a fierce look.
Although Spencer was thin, he was tall. He looked like a mountain standing in front of Stella, who was relatively short. His murderous aura made him appear even more difficult to deal with.
Stella’s heart tightened. She gritted her teeth and said, “I wouldn’t have let you off the hook if I had brought my bodyguard today. Tell me your name if you have the guts!”
“My name is Melody Fox. Can you get out of my way now?”
Stella let out a cold snort.
“Melody Fox? Great. I remember you!”
Then Stella deliberately bumped into Melody’s shoulder and ran into a sports car by the roadside. She stepped on the accelerator and sped away.
“Miss Fox, are you alright?” Spencer quickly asked Melody.
Melody rubbed her sore shoulder and shook her head. “I’m fine.”
Spencer heaved a sigh of relief. He did not expect Stella to be so rude.
He could not help but remind Melody, “Miss Fox, you shouldn’t have told her your name just now. Someone like her will find an opportunity to make a scene at you again.”
“It wouldn’t be such a bad thing if she did come to me.”
Perhaps Melody could use the opportunity to let Linda see that Stella was not the right woman for Wilmot. In that way, Melody could repay Wilmot’s kindness.
Spencer did not understand what Melody meant but dared not to ask further. He quickly opened the car door and let Melody sit in.
“Miss Fox, where are we going next?”
Melody was just about to say she was going to the manor when she got a call from Russell.
Looking at Russell’s name, Melody felt that the more she looked at it, the more unfamiliar it became. She was even more unfamiliar with him if it was the case for his name.
In her world, Russell was already a stranger when Russell signed the agreement to sever the parent-child relationship.
‘However, why is Russell looking for me?’ thought Melody.
Melody hesitated before picking up the call.
“What is it?” She sounded as if she was talking to a stranger.
Russell was angered by her attitude on the other end of the line.
“Is that how you talk to me?”
Melody’s expression did not change at all. She said indifferently, “I’ll hang up if you have nothing else.”
“Don’t…” Russell panicked on the other end of the line. He quickly softened his tone and said, “Come to First Hospital now. I’m in the VIP ward on the ninth floor of the Inpatient Department.”
“Are you sick?” asked Melody, stunned.
Russell stuttered. Finally, he clicked his tongue and said, “Anyway, come over quickly! I’ll give you half an hour.”
Russell had cut off the call before Melody could speak.
Her call was on speaker. Spencer, who was in the driver’s seat, couldn’t help but turn around and ask, “Miss Fox, are you going to First Hospital?”
Melody hesitated and said, “Let’s go there.”
She did not want to push Russell too far before he officially entered her trap.
‘If something happens to Russell, his assets will fall into Mabel’s hands first, which will cause a lot of trouble.
Thinking of that, Melody urged, “Drive faster.”
“Yes!”
Inpatient Department, First Hospital.
After hanging up, Russell turned around and returned to the ward. He immediately put on a flattering smile and said to the angry couple by the bed, “Mr. Webb, Mrs. Webb, please calm down. She’ll be here soon.”
“It better be!” Trisha Webb gritted her teeth and said, “Sabrina is the apple in my eyes. Melody, your daughter, dares to hit her. She has to be prepared to bear the wrath of the Webb family!”
Sabrina wanted to scold as well on the bed, but her mouth was smashed, and her face was bandaged. She could not make a sound, leaving only her eyes glaring at Russell.
Russell quickly apologized. “It’s all my daughter’s fault. She’ll soon come over to apologize to Sabrina, your daughter.
As Russell spoke, he changed the topic and said, “But… did Melody hit Sabrina? Is there a misunderstanding?
Although Melody was arrogant, Russell knew fully well that Melody was not a heinous person. If Sabrina hadn’t done something that annoyed Melody, Melody would never have taken the initiative to attack Sabrina.
Pete Webb, the chairman, snorted coldly and questioned with a livid expression, “Misunderstanding? Are you saying we wronged Melody? Or did we deliberately slap Sabrina’s face like this to teach your daughter a lesson?”
Russell quickly waved his hands. “No, of course not. I was wondering… if you might have gotten the wrong person?”
“Enough!” Pete interrupted Russell coldly. “I think you just want to side with your daughter. Since that’s the case, the Webb Group will no longer provide any fabric to the Justalion Group.”
“Don’t…” Russell’s heart tightened. He quickly tried to salvage the situation. “Melody has long since the father- daughter relationship with me. It’s because she’s usually too naughty that I kicked her out of the home. But don’t worry. I’ll teach her a lesson on your behalf when she comes. Please don’t be mad, or you’ll hurt yourself.”
The Webb Group was in the fabric business. Every year, the Justalion Group needed the Webb Group to provide a large amount of fabric to make clothes.
The fabrics of the Webb Group were well-known in the industry for their high quality and low price. Without the Webb Group’s fabric, the Justalion Group would have to significantly raise the cost of making ready-to-wear clothing. Russell could not afford to offend the Webb family.
The more Russell apologized, the angrier he became.
‘Melody, the damned jinx. You had cut ties with me but still harm me. You do live up to the title of being a jinx! If I had known this would happen, I would have drowned you when you were born!’ thought Russell.
Pete observed Russell’s expression. Seeing that Russell did not intend to side with Melody, his awful expression eased a little.
Soon, the footsteps sounded in the corridor.
“Excuse me, is Russell Fox in this ward?”
Russell immediately recognized Melody’s voice. He quickly walked out to greet Melody. “I’m here! Come over!”
Melody sized Russell up as she walked toward him.
Melody slowly frowned when she saw Russell was in good spirits, and there was no obvious injury on his body.
“You’re not sick?”
“Damn it! Do you want me to get sick?” Russell scolded.
Melody was already used to it. She asked indifferently, “Then why did you ask me to come here?”
Her gaze swept into the ward as she spoke.
Melody understood everything when she saw Sabrina lying on the bed with the bandages all over her face.
