Maggie blinked, her voice dropping to a murmur. "But I only want Sanford.."

Rosalynn's laughter bubbled out, bright and infectious. "You're so devoted to him. If Sanford heard that, he'd be over the moon."

Maggie pouted, crossing her arms. "No, he wouldn't. He doesn't even believe me.

"And yet, you still want him?" Rosalynn teased, shaking her head with a grin.

Maggie sighed dramatically. "What can I say? I'm hopelessly in love with him."

Rosalynn smiled warmly. "Should I praise your loyalty or scold you for your stubbornness?"

Maggie was at a loss for words in response to her teasing.

Meanwhile, at the Robles estate, Janiya was deep in thought, her lips pressed into a thin line. She had spent the evening considering potential matches for her son, determined to steer him away from Maggie once and for all.

Her focus settled on Carolyn Deleon, the 24-year-old heiress of the prominent Deleon family in Wragos.

Though the Deleon family didn't quite rival the Robles family in status, they were well-connected and reputable.

Carolyn was everything Janiya wanted in a daughter-in-Law-elegant, well- educated, and poised, with a degree from a prestigious university.

Janiya called Carolyn's mother, Kaya Deleon, to discuss the possibility of a marriage alliance.

There was a brief pause on the other end before Kaya spoke, her tone hesitant. "I heard that your son was in an accident. Is it true his legs are paralyzed?"

Janiya’s smile stiffened, though her voice remained even. "It's true, but we've hired someone professional to treat him. They've assured us it's only temporary. Sanford won't be in a wheelchair for long."

Another pause followed, Longer this time. "I see," Kaya said at last. "Well, I'm not sure what Carolyn would think about it. Let me ask her when she gets home, and if she's interested, I'll get back to you."

Janiya's face darkened. The polite rejection wasn't lost on her.

"Kaya," she said coolly, “it sounds like you're hesitant because of Sanford's condition. If that's the case, let's forget I made this call. After all, there are plenty of other suitable girls eager to marry my son. I only reached out to you because I thought it would be nice for our families to unite. Clearly, I misjudged."

It was an ironic twist. After the Robles family had canceled their engagement with the Morenos, the Deleons had gone out of their way to stay in touch, subtly hinting at their interest in marrying their daughter off to Sanford.

Yet now, when the opportunity presented itself, they were reluctant, making excuses.

Just as Janiya was about to hang up, Kaya's voice came in a hurried rush.

"Janiya, please don't take offense. I didn't mean anything by it. Of course, I'd be delighted to see our families connected by marriage. Fine, I'll send Carolyn over tomorrow to care for Sanford for a few days. Let them spend time together and see how things unfold."

Janiya's tone stayed cool and distant. "I hope you're not pressuring her into this. I don't want to force you into something you don't want."

"Of course not!" Kaya assured her, her words tumbling over each other. "We both know that Carolyn has always admired Sanford. I only hesitated because I was unsure of Sanford's condition. But now that you're confident that Sanford will be back on his feet soon, then there's no problem at all."

Her enthusiasm was evident, and Janiya allowed herself a faint, satisfied smile. "Since you insist, we'll proceed. I'll inform Sanford shortly."
