Sanford scoffed. "She likely sees me as a stepping stone. She's probably hoping to marry into our family and leverage our status for her vendetta against Brian."

A shiver coursed through Janiya. She had always seen Shari as merely an ambitious caretaker, never suspecting the depths of her deceit.

It then dawned on Janiya. "Oh my. It was Shari who tampered with your food, trying to undermine you!" she exclaimed. "We've been wrongfully accusing Carolyn all this time!"

Sanford's expression shifted subtly as he remarked, "What's the use of discussing this now? The fact remains, I can't have sex."

His tone carried a tinge of bitterness, but his words were calculated. No one had tampered with his food. It was all part of his carefully laid-out deception.

Feigning a sorrowful demeanor, Sanford pressed the control on his wheelchair, turning away to retreat into his room.

Janiya stood frozen, her emotions swirling between frustration and despair A burning urge to confront Shari overtook her thoughts.

How could someone be so malicious?

Her son was already burdened by his injuries, his life irreparably changed.

And yet, Shari had only added to his suffering, sabotaging his fragile grasp on normalcy.

Janiya wondered what she was supposed to do now. Who could she trust to care for him?

Her mind spiraled as she realized there was no one she could rely on anymore.

Once, she had convinced herself that if Shari truly cared for Sanford and if no other woman was willing to marry him, she would agree to their marriage.

As long as her son found happiness, she would accept Shari, despite her reservations.

But now?

It was a relief to see Shari's true nature exposed before further damage was done. If Shari had succeeded in her schemes, it would have spelled disaster for the Robles family.

Janiya's thoughts flickered to her husband's sharp words. He had said that everything happening now was all her fault.

If she hadn't opposed Sanford's relationship with Maggie from the start, perhaps none of this would have happened.

A brief pang of regret surfaced, only to be buried by her stubborn pride.

She would never admit she had been wrong.

Her disdain for Maggie ran too deep, rooted in prejudice she couldn't shake.

But when Ricardo arrived to treat Sanford, her guilt resurfaced.

As Ricardo entered to begin the treatment, an unsettling scene unfolded.

"Mr. Robles, what are you doing? Put the knife down."
