Tilda let out a sharp, amused laugh. She didn't even dignify his accusations with a response. Instead, she simply lifted her chin and glanced at the security camera mounted overhead.
"I seem to recall that this hotel has cameras everywhere," she mused. "There should be footage from outside the dressing room, too." Her gaze landed back on Scarlet. "I suggest you check the surveillance footage. Then you'll know whether I'm telling the truth."
Scarlet hesitated. Tilda's voice was calm, and there was a confidence in her words that made Scarlet's doubts creep back in.
She yanked her hand away from Alex's grip, her expression darkening.
"Alex," she said coldly, "you'd better have a very good explanation."
Alex's face turned rigid. He clenched his jaw before forcing out a sharp laugh. "Scarlet, I already told you-she's making this up!"
He turned to glare at Tilda, eyes filled with barely contained rage.
"You want to check the surveillance footage? Fine! Go ahead!" His voice was laced with defiance. "But remember-if you can't find evidence to support your accusations against me, I'll sue you for defamation!"
His confidence wavered Scarlet's certainty. Would Alex really be this bold if he had something to hide?
If he had cheated with Douglass's wife, surely he wouldn't dare let them check the security footage.
Tilda narrowed her eyes.
Alex was too self-assured. If she hadn't witnessed the scene herself, even she might have doubted her own accusations. Why wasn't he afraid?
Could it be that there were no cameras near the dressing room?
Or.. had he anticipated this and already erased the footage?
By now, their heated exchange had caught the attention of the guests, and more people had gathered, murmuring among themselves.
Among them were Barnes, Brea, Cade, the mayor and his wife, as well as Douglass and his wife.
As their gazes fell on Alex—disheveled, humiliated, and seething—they were visibly taken aback.
Cade stepped forward, frowning. "Scarlet, Alex, what's going on here?"
Scarlet wasted no time in answering. Her voice was sharp as she pointed an accusatory finger at Tilda. "Dad, Tilda tried to seduce Alex! When she got caught, she played the victim and turned the blame on him. Look at what a state Alex is in -he was beaten by Lyndon!"
Despite her lingering doubts, Scarlet still chose to believe her fiancé and defend him in front of others.
A hush fell over the crowd as everyone turned to Lyndon and Tilda, waiting for their response.
Lyndon didn't bother with pointless arguments. Instead, he shot a glance at his assistant and ordered, "Go to the security office. I want the surveillance footage from the restroom and dressing room areas."
"Yes, sir," the assistant replied before swiftly walking away .
Barnes and Brea exchanged a concerned glance before approaching Lyndon and Tilda.
