Then, suddenly, her voice lit up with excitement. "Wait! I think I've got an idea!"
A triumphant glimmer flickered in Rita's eyes, though she kept her voice neutral. "Oh? What kind of idea?"
"She Loves flaunting her relationship, right? That means her boyfriend is her weak spot. So, what if we create a scandal around him? Let's see how she reacts when that happens."
Rita hadn't expected Rosie to take this route, but it was an interesting development.
"You want to start rumors about Keanu?" she asked, feigning surprise.
"Exactly! He's practically a public figure now because of Corrine, and lucky for us, my company is working with N.C. Keanu has been dropping by a lot lately. Just leave it to me -I'll make sure this gets interesting."
Rita pretended to hesitate. "Rosie, don't you think that's a bit extreme? Keanu hasn't actually done anything wrong."
Rosie scoffed, "Oh, please. Any man who can put up with someone like Corrine is probably just as bad as she is. And don't forget-he used to be Tilda's first love! Who knows what kind of messy history they have? Maybe he's into threesomes or something."
Rita wrinkled her nose as if disgusted. "Ugh, Rosie, that's gross. Don't even joke about that."
Rosie Laughed. "Alright, alright, I'll spare you the details. Working in this industry, I've heard all sorts of things. Anyway, I'll take care of everything. You just sit back and enjoy the show."
"Okay," Rita said sweetly before ending the call.
The moment the line disconnected, her expression shifted into one of quiet satisfaction.
Manipulating people into doing her dirty work was second nature to her. Rosie could handle this mess—Rita just had to wait for the fallout.
Meanwhile, Casper drove home, still stewing over the incident at the restaurant.
As soon as he got inside, he grabbed his phone and called Lyndon.
Lyndon answered almost immediately. "Casper?" "Hey, are you busy?"
Lyndon, still at Fernandez Group's headquarters, paused his work. "Not really. What's up?"
"Well, we need to talk," Casper said in a deep voice.
Lyndon already had a bad feeling when he heard that. Could this be about Tilda? "What's the matter?" he asked.
Casper let out a heavy sigh. "It's about Rita. She's been trying to find a serious mentor for vocal training, so I reached out to some industry connections. Everything was going fine until-guess who showed up?"
"Who?"
"Your wife and her cousin. We ran into them at the restaurant. They completely ruined everything. Corrine outright told Evans not to help Rita. Can you believe that? It's beyond unfair."
