Fortunately, Myra had been there. Keanu hadn't been caught in the trap.
But there was still a problem. Even though Keanu hadn't been improperly involved with another woman, he was already entangled in a scandal.
Without evidence to prove he had been set up by Rosie, the damage was already done.
The most urgent task now was to clear Keanu's and Myra's names.
But how? Tilda descended the stairs, her mind occupied. In the kitchen, Elma was tidying up.
Seeing her, she smiled. "Tilda, good morning."
Tilda nodded. "Good morning. Has Sheldon gone to school?" "Yes, Mr. Fernandez took him," Elma replied with a smile.
"Oh." Tilda sat at the breakfast table, still deep in thought.
Elma brought over breakfast, but Tilda barely noticed it. Just then, her phone rang. It was Myra. Tilda quickly answered. "Myra."
"Tilda, I'm so angry! Rosie is so outrageous, spreading lies about me! Luckily, my boyfriend was at the hotel with me last night, keeping Keanu company. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to prove my innocence."
Myra's voice was furious the moment the call connected.
Tilda knew immediately she had seen the news. "Did Corrine just call you?"
"Yes, she asked what happened last night. I told her everything—-how I ran into Keanu, how he was clearly drugged, and how I got him to a hotel to sober up." Myra took a deep breath, still agitated. "Then Corrine thanked me and told me not to worry about the news. She said she'll handle it."
Tilda felt a pang of guilt. "Myra, I'm sorry. You got dragged into this because of us."
This was entirely because of their disagreement with Rita.
"It's fine. We're friends," Myra replied. Then, after a pause, she sighed. "Do you think I should take a few days off? I'm worried Corrine's fans might cause trouble for me." She let out a small laugh, trying to joke about it. "After all, I'm now the ‘shameless woman' who supposedly stole Corrine's man."
Tilda felt both amused and apologetic. "Alright, I'll talk to Lyndon and arrange for you to have a few days off."
Myra gasped playfully. "Wait, I was joking! I still need to work to earn a living!"
Tilda smiled. "How about paid leave?" Myra clicked her tongue. "Wow, that's wonderful." Tilda laughed. "I'll talk to Lyndon later."
Myra thought for a moment, then changed her mind. "Actually never mind. If I take leave now, my colleagues might really think I did something wrong and that I'm too guilty to show my face. I'll just wait for Corrine to clear my name."
Tilda admired Myra's strength. She wasn't someone who ran away from problems.
Tilda smiled. "Got it. I'll see you at Lunch, then."
She needed to show her support!
"Are you here to console me, Tilda?" Myra teased. Tilda chuckled. "Yes, should I?"
