She leaned back, her expression unbothered. "Obviously. Trash like Rosie deserves a harsh lesson."

Keanu let out a small chuckle and nodded. "Yeah. She should pay for what she did."

His approval was so unexpected that Corrine found it a little odd.

Flashing a playful smile, she looked at him and said, "Now public opinion has shifted; people are calling you a catch."

Keanu chuckled, shaking his head. "That compliment doesn't mean anything to me. I'd trade it all for a little peace and quiet."

Corrine's bright eyes shimmered with amusement. "But if you're with me, peace isn't exactly in your future. How about I retire? We'll move to a little village, build a warm little cabin, and while you plant flowers and take care of the garden, I'll sing and dance. That's how we'll live. What do you think?"

Keanu froze, his spoon hovering midair.

Once upon a time, that kind of simple, idyllic life had been his dream.

But the other half of that dream.. A shadow of sadness flickered in his downcast eyes.

"Don't be ridiculous. You're too famous. Even if you left everything behind, you'd never be able to live like an ordinary person," he muttered.

Corrine leaned closer, undeterred. "Not if we disappear into the mountains. I'd have an engineer set up a security system to keep out intruders. Then, it would just be you and me. Doesn't that sound nice?"

Corrine envisioned a peaceful life, a gentle light flickering in her eyes as she indulged in the thought.

Hearing the life she described instantly reminded Keanu of a novel he had read once.

Without thinking, he blurted out, "Why not plant some roses and turn this place into your own Neverland?"

Corrine froze for a moment before bursting into laughter. "That sounds about right. You're just naive enough to be Peter Pan!"

Keanu fell silent, his eyes locking onto her playful expression.

In that instant, he thought of her as Tinker Bell, mischievous and playful, always ready to pull a prank or create a little chaos.

Tinker Bell and Peter Pan were inseparable friends and allies, connected by a deep bond that united them in their adventures.

Unconsciously, he smiled.

Wait. How had she managed to send his mind spiraling down this path?

What absurd nonsense. At that moment, Corrine's phone buzzed.

The caller ID flashed a familiar nmame-Vicki Blake, a musician she shared a close bond with.

Corrine answered, "Hello?"

A lively voice crackled through the speaker. "Corrine, how's your boyfriend doing? Feeling any better?"
