What really happened five years ago? Was it Tilda he had been with? Was Sheldon truly his son?

He was conflicted, uncertain whether the woman he had slept with was Rosanna or Tilda.

His chest tightened. He felt the nausea creeping back.

Lyndon forced himself to stop. He had to let go of the thoughts—for now.

Outside, Tilda knelt beside Sheldon, adjusting his collar and whispering a few last reminders. As she stood and turned to walk them to the elevator, the doors slid open.

Two familiar figures emerged: Casper and Rita. "Tilda." "Mrs. Fernandez."

Tilda nodded at them politely, her eyes briefly meeting Rita's.

Her smile was gentle and friendly, but Tilda looked away almost immediately.

Casper had told her what had happened during the chaos: Rita had shielded Lyndon from a blow meant to kill him.

She'd been injured-but only slightly. Still, she'd become Lyndon's savior.

"Tilda, has Lyndon woken up?" Casper asked.

Snapped out of her thoughts, Tilda blinked, then nodded. "He just did."

"That's great to hear," he said with a warm smile. "We'll go see him."

With that, he walked past her and headed down the hall toward the room with Rita.

Tilda waited until Elma and Sheldon were safely in the elevator. Once the doors slid shut, she turned and made her way back.

Inside the room, Lyndon rested with his eyes closed, his body still weak.

He heard footsteps approaching, and slowly opened his eyes.

"Lyndon, I'm so relieved to see you awake," Casper said gently as he approached the bedside, exhaling a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding.

Rita stepped forward beside him, her voice soft and still laced with worry. "Yes... when they wheeled you into the operating room, covered in blood... it was terrifying. We didn't know if you'd make it."

Feeling dizzy, Lyndon weakly motioned toward the nearby seats, his faint smile signaling Casper and Rita to sit down for a conversation.

"I'LL slice some fruits," Tilda suggested.

"No need to go to any trouble, Mrs. Fernandez," Rita cut in quickly, adding, "We're all friends here."

Friends?

Tilda would rather keep her distance from Rita if she could, but gratitude for Rita's role in saving Lyndon made that tricky for now.
