That was not acceptable!
Their vehicle journeyed steadily toward Skrix Hospital.
Tilda navigated into the open-air parking area before guiding Sheldon toward the hospital entrance.
Just before reaching the doorway, Sheldon suddenly tightened his grip on her hand. "Mom, a man has been observing you since we exited the car. He continues to follow us."
These words sent a jolt of alarm through Tilda, causing her heart to stutter irregularly.
Someone was trailing them?
Could it be that another bad guy was plotting their abduction?
The traumatic memories from their previous kidnapping ordeal lingered painfully in Tilda's mind, stirring immediate unease at the possibility.
She reminded herself that Lyndon had assigned two bodyguards to protect them discreetly. If genuine danger lurked behind them, these guards would certainly intervene.
This realization brought marginal comfort, yet she couldn't prevent herself from nervously swallowing as she clutched Sheldon's hand more firmly, hastening their pace toward the hospital entrance.
Once inside, curiosity overcame her caution, compelling her to glance backward.
The man had already caught up to them.
Their gazes locked, and he tentatively inquired, "Are you Tilda?"
Tilda scrutinized him carefully. The stranger wore a casual suit that complemented his refined, gentle features.
A spark of recognition flickered through her mind—-his face seemed vaguely familiar.
"Yes, and you are?" she replied cautiously.
Excitement flashed across the man's eyes. "It truly is you! You've transformed considerably-I almost failed to recognize you."
Suddenly aware of his social oversight, he quickly added, "I'm Reggie Potter, Corrine's distant cousin. We've encountered each other several times at family gatherings."
Tilda searched her memories until recollection finally dawned on her.
During the Christmas season, families traditionally visited one another.
She and Reggie had been introduced at a lavish banquet hosted by the Sanderson family.
They had exchanged contact information but never maintained communication afterward.
"It's you, Reggie," said Tilda with a warm smile. "It's been a while." Reggie beamed, "I almost thought you'd forgotten about me!" Tilda gave a playful smirk.
After exchanging hellos, Reggie looked down at Sheldon, who regarded him with a cautious eye. "Tilda, who is this young boy?"
