"This is my son, Sheldon. Go on, say hello, Sheldon." Sheldon, a bit hesitant, finally uttered, "Hello, Mr. Potter."

Reggie raised his eyebrows in surprise. He managed a nod, though his expression remained one of astonishment.

"I didn't realize you already had a son. When did you get married?" Reggie inquired, his voice tapering off into a mix of curiosity and slight dismay.

Tilda's smile was laden with unspoken stories.

When they last saw each other years ago, she was single and hadn't yet introduced Sheldon to the world.

It was no surprise that Reggie was taken aback.

With a graceful shift away from the personal, she asked, "What brings you here?"

"I'm here visiting an acquaintance. What about you?" replied Reggie, accepting the change in topic with ease.

"A friend just had babies, so I thought I'd drop by," Tilda explained.

"What a coincidence! The person I'm here to see just had babies too. Maybe they are on the same floor." He grinned. "Shall we go together?"

"Of course."

As they walked toward the inpatient department, Tilda held Sheldon's hand. Sheldon, however, eyed Reggie with a trace of suspicion.

Something about the way Reggie looked at his mother didn't sit right with him.

Could Reggie be harboring feelings for her?

His mother and father were at odds, but he couldn't let others take advantage of the situation.

Sheldon racked his brain, pondering what to do next. As soon as they stepped out of the elevator on the fourth floor, he slipped his hand out of Tilda's grasp.

"Mom, I really can't wait any longer. I need the restroom." "I'LL come with you," Tilda offered.

Sheldon waved his hands. "That's okay. You go ahead and check in on Mrs. Hughes. I remember her room. I'll meet you there soon."

Before Tilda could protest, Sheldon had taken off down the hall.

Watching the boy scurry off, Reggie chuckled. "Your son's adorable."

A playful glint sparked in Tilda's eyes. "He's just sharp for his age."

Reggie looked over at her with a hint of curiosity. "Your husband didn't come along?"

The smile on Tilda's face faded slightly. She turned her gaze ahead and replied, "He's tied up with work."

Reggie walked alongside her, stealing subtle glances at her face. A flicker of regret surfaced in his eyes.
