Even if his love for her wasn't deep, he seemed to enjoy her company, right?
With a ding, the elevator reached the twenty-eighth floor. Lyndon held the door open, motioning for Tilda to exit first.
He then followed her, maintaining a respectful distance akin to that of a conscientious assistant.
As they walked past the administrative office, a secretary approached them. "Could you be Mrs. Fernandez and her assistant?"
It appeared the receptionist had already passed on their details.
Tilda confirmed with a nod. "Yes."
"Come with me."
The secretary guided them to the CEO's office and knocked on the door. "Mr. Potter, Mrs. Fernandez has arrived."
Reggie, who had been anticipating Tilda's visit, immediately stood up, a welcoming smile on his face.
However, as Lyndon entered the room behind her, Reggie's smile momentarily stiffened.
Why was Lyndon here?
"Mr. Potter, apologies for the delay; we encountered some traffic." Tilda waved at Reggie, her voice light.
"It's fine. I'm just glad you made it," Reggie responded warmly, then turned to Lyndon with an outstretched hand. "Mr. Fernandez, it's a surprise to see you as well!"
Lyndon offered a restrained smile and accepted the handshake.
"We stayed up quite late last night, and Tilda overslept a bit this morning. I thought it wouldn't be safe for her to drive in her half-awake state, so I decided to drive her here myself," Lyndon explained, giving Tilda a look brimming with apparent concern.
Reggie kept his smile polite, watching their interaction.
Had he not talked to Corrine the previous night, who informed him that Lyndon harbored feelings for another woman and did not truly love Tilda, he might have been convinced by Lyndon's affectionate act.
"Mr. Potter, about the anime adaptation, are there any specific directions you'd like us to take?" Tilda ignored Lyndon's performative display and dove straight into business.
"Please, let's sit and discuss it," Reggie said, guiding them to a seating area.
As Lyndon and Tilda settled onto the sofa, Reggie made a brief internal call. "Could you bring in two cups of coffee, please? One with extra sugar."
After ending the call, Reggie positioned himself opposite them and flashed Tilda a warm smile. "Tilda, if I recall correctly, you like your coffee with extra sugar, right?"
Tilda returned the smile. "Yes, it seems you still remember how I like my coffee."
"Absolutely, it's unforgettable!"
Tilda, taken aback, found herself caught in his intense gaze, her eyes momentarily wavering.
