"Reggie, do you like Tilda?" he asked, sinking another ball.
Reggie's grin faltered. "You noticed too?"
Keanu moved to the other side of the table and lined up his cue. "Let her go. She's found her happiness now. Holding on will only hurt you."
His words were meant as much for himself as for Reggie. Only by releasing past attachments could one begin anew.
"To be honest.. is she really happy?" Reggie asked quietly. "Did Corrine tell you? Lyndon still can't let go of someone from his past."
Keanu didn't react. He simply looked toward the couch, where Tilda and Corrine were laughing between verses, singing their hearts out.
"I know all about Tilda's past," he said eventually. "Didn't Corrine tell you? Tilda and I were each other's first loves."
Reggie missed his cue, staring at him in shock. "Wait-you and Tilda?" he blurted, stunned by the revelation.
He'd always been so focused on Tilda and Lyndon's complicated relationship that he hadn't paid attention to the deeper threads binding all four of them.
"I used to think like you," Keanu admitted, chalking his cue. "That Lyndon wasn't good enough for her. That he couldn't let go of the past and she deserved better. I even hoped they'd break up."
He leaned over the table, took a shot—clean sink. "But over time, I realized something. Just because we think she deserves someone better doesn't mean she feels the same."
Reggie's expression slowly shifted—confusion giving way to something quieter.
"Still," he said, "any woman would feel uncomfortable being with someone who holds another woman in their heart, right?"
Keanu met his eyes. His voice was steady. "Reggie, life is long. No one can guarantee they'll love just one person forever. Feelings change. People change. What matters is what someone chooses to do now."
He gestured toward Lyndon and Tilda. "If Lyndon is willing to let go of his past and devote himself to her, fully and truthfully, then that makes him a good man."
Keanu meant every word.
He used to think Tilda was irreplaceable—-that she was the only one he could ever truly love.
He'd clung to that belief for years. Until Corrine walked in, vibrant and wild, disarming him in ways’ he hadn't anticipated.
Life is full of surprises.
One could never predict what plans fate had in store.
"Do you still love Tilda?" Reggie asked, voice low.
Keanu's gaze shifted to Tilda-still smiling, still singing.
His features softened. He said honestly, "I can't say I don't. Tilda was my first love. She was once everything I thought I wanted. Maybe she will always hold a place in my heart." He paused. "But I'm a man. A mature man. And a mature man knows how to master his emotions."
His tone turned resolute. "Starting today, I won't chase a shadow from the past." He Looked Reggie in the eye. "And I hope you can be a mature man too."
