At the same moment, in the secretarial office, Myra looked up from a stack of freshly printed documents and noticed Rita enter CEO's office. A frown creased her brow.
What the hell was that bitch doing here again?
Without missing a beat, she yanked out her phone and typed out a quick message.
Tilda needed to know. Now.
Elsewhere, Tilda was lounging in the staff break room, sipping from a glass of water after she discussed script edits with Forrest.
Her phone buzzed. She glanced at it-and smiled when she saw the text.
Corrine had already told her Hubert cut Rita loose.
So, Rita was running to Lyndon now. What was she hoping to achieve?
Pity? Or was she clinging to the fantasy that Lyndon would still come to her rescue?
Tilda wondered—-would Lyndon really choose Rita again, now that he knew she'd caused everything?
In the quiet of Lyndon's office, the atmosphere shifted the moment the door swung open. His gaze turned sharp, lips pressed into a thin line as he watched Rita step inside uninvited.
His eyes flicked to Casper, who trailed behind her. Lyndon's voice cut through the room like ice. "Casper, you know the protocol. Visitors must be announced. Have you forgotten everything I taught you?"
Casper, still caught off guard by the sudden confrontation, quickly bowed his head. "I'm sorry, Mr. Fernandez. Rita was in some distress—she insisted on seeing you."
"And I'm expected to drop everything just because she insists?" Lyndon's tone dropped further in temperature. "Who exactly does she think she is?"
Casper faltered, too embarrassed to respond.
Tears welled in Rita's eyes. "Lyndon, please don't blame Casper-—it's my fault. I told him something shocking, and he just.. didn't know how to stop me."
Lyndon's eyes narrowed at the sound of her voice, something unreadable flickering behind them. "What's wrong with your voice?"
The moment he said it, Rita crumbled. Her composure unraveled, and tears spilled freely.
"I was poisoned and my vocal cords were damaged! And you must know who's behind it! Why are they always after me? Why destroy my dreams.. my future?"
Realization dawned on Lyndon. "It was my wife—and Corrine—who orchestrated this?"
"Yes!" Rita cried, her voice catching. "You know what else? They even sent some playboy after me—on purpose!"
Lyndon's brows furrowed. A memory surfaced—an encounter at the mall involving Hubert.
"You're saying Hubert was sent by them? That he was part of some plan to entrap you?"
Rita nodded, her voice shaking. "Exactly! You've met him. His fiancée is unhinged-she had her men corner me in a parking garage. And she's the one who poisoned me. But all of this happened because of Tilda and Corrine. Why are they so set on ruining me?"
