Daniela was surprised to learn that her phone was recovered from the police station.

"How did it get to the police station?"

Juan quickly recounted the events of the previous night.

"You mean, someone...died on the road yesterday?"

A wave of fear washed over Daniela. Thankfully, she had met Adam yesterday, and he had taken her back to the orphanage. Otherwise, the one who was kidnapped could have been her.

But the thought of someone sacrificing their life for her left a heavy weight on her heart.

"Juan, please find out about the girl who passed away. I want to pay my respects."

Juan agreed.

Daniela felt uneasy. After sending a message to Adam, she leaned back in her chair, saying nothing.

Seeing her distress, Sebastian felt even more uncomfortable, especially knowing that she was still giving Adam updates. He snorted loudly.

——

It was Fernanda who called Daniela, asking about the orphanage. Upon learning about Daniela's near-miss, she immediately insisted that they both come back.

Seeing that Daniela was only pale and unharmed, Fernanda finally felt relieved.

She couldn't resist hitting Sebastian with her cane. "I'll beat you to death, you little rascal!"

He had left Daniela alone on the road so late at night and went to the hospital to find that Sofia!

How could she have such a shameless grandson!

Daniela stopped her. "Grandma, it's not Sebastian's fault. Besides, I'm fine."

Fernanda said coldly, "Not his fault? If we keep coddling him, he'll forget his own name."

"From today onwards, both of you are staying at the manor. I'll keep an eye on him myself!"

That was unnecessary, wasn't it?

Fernanda said, "Daniela, just think of it as staying with your old grandma."

Daniela couldn't refuse, so she agreed. Sebastian didn't object either.

After a brief chat, Sebastian went back to the company.

Daniela originally wanted to go with him, but Sebastian disagreed. "You'll just be sleeping at the company, and you'll be sleeping at home. Why bother going? Don't worry, I'll mark you as sick leave."

Daniela...

Fernanda... What kind of mouth did this rascal have? If it weren't for her, Sebastian would never be able to find a wife who truly loves him!

After Sebastian left, Daniela didn't rush to Austin Uptown to get her computer. Instead, she asked about the Mario Family.

Fernanda squinted her eyes and thought for a while before retrieving a blurry memory from the corner of her mind.

"Mario Family, I remember they started in seafood. Later, with the help of the Rodriguez Family, they ventured into real estate. They seem to be doing quite well these past two years?"

She looked at Andy uncertainly.

Andy smiled. "That was a long time ago. The Mario Family company had a falling out with the Rodriguez Family's daughter. The Rodriguez Family stopped supporting them and even intervened a few times."

Hearing this, Fernanda suddenly remembered.

She turned to Daniela and asked, "Why are you suddenly mentioning the Mario Family?"

Daniela then told her about what happened at the orphanage, but she concealed the real reason for wanting to get in touch with adoption.

Fernanda shook her head. "That Mario Family boy, after all these years, his character hasn't improved."

"However, this is the first time I've heard that they have an orphanage. It seems that the Mario Family's ancestors were virtuous."

It's a pity that their descendant, Vincent, is not.

Daniela was curious, though. How was he connected to the Rodriguez Family?

Fernanda chuckled. "Speaking of the Rodriguez Family's daughter, you've probably met her. She runs a fashion studio, Vic Fashion Design Studio. Many of your gowns were made by her."

Daniela's eyes widened slightly.

Vincent's ex-girlfriend was actually the owner of Vic Fashion Design Studio, Aunt Bella.
