Daniela entered the lobby and her eyes immediately landed on the woman standing there.
She had big waves of hair, wasn't young, but looked decent, though her makeup was a little heavy, obscuring her true features.
The kid next to her was quite tall and was absorbed in playing a game console, muttering to himself.
He didn't seem nervous or remorseful in the least.
They didn't look like mother and son.
"Thirteen? He's not small anymore, he should be sensible. Not knowing the danger of throwing things from high places can only mean that his parents haven't taught him properly."
Her voice was gentle and sweet, instantly drawing everyone's attention in the room.
The woman frowned and looked over: "Who are you to tell me what to do? I suggest you get out of my sight, or I'll make you regret it."
Daniela looked at Mr. Gruber coolly: "It doesn't look like she wants to negotiate. I think I'll pass and wait for my lawyer's letter."
Mr. Gruber hurriedly blocked Daniela's path: "Mrs. Romero, this... this is unnecessary. You can rest assured that we will give you a satisfactory answer today."
"Mrs. Romero?" The woman sneered: "What's her status, does she deserve to be called Mrs.? You're quite a brown-noser, this manager of yours."
Mr. Gruber was as frantic as an ant on a hot pan, completely at a loss.
How did even the address become a matter of contention?
Daniela saw through the woman's unreasonable behavior and had no desire to argue with her.
"Throwing things from high places is dangerous. That's for all to see. The other day, a brick was thrown from a high place and hit someone, directly causing a death. There was a report on this."
"My husband was lucky, he wasn't hit on the head, but that doesn't mean this can be brushed aside."
"The main responsibility lies with the kid. He's young, so we're pursuing his parents. Pay up."
Mr. Gruber nodded frantically.
That's what he was thinking too, unfortunately, the other Mrs. Romero wasn't on board.
The woman said: "Pay up, pay what? Bah! I see you're all good as new."
"I want you to pay me!"
"My son's Lego is a brand new limited edition, worth a lot of money. Now it's smashed to pieces on you. Either give me an identical replacement, or double the compensation!"
Daniela was amused: "It's the first time I've heard of someone not having to pay for hitting someone else, but the one being hit having to pay."
"Fine. You don't want to pay, I have nothing to say. If that's the case, then let's talk to a lawyer."
Daniela was impressed by the woman in front of her.
What was Austin Uptown? R City's famous aristocratic district, filled with the rich and powerful.
She kept a low profile in the community, never getting into any conflicts with anyone.
She was afraid of getting involved with someone and causing trouble for the Romero Family.
With such a large family business, she was still so careful.
What was the woman's status, how dare she be so arrogant?
Mr. Gruber called her Mrs. Worth, could she be a foreign businesswoman?
But Daniela wasn't afraid either, especially since they were the victims.
Mr. Gruber looked dejected and wanted to beg. Daniela cut him off swiftly: "You saw her attitude. It's not that I'm not cooperating, but they're not cooperating. You begging me won't help."
"Also, I'll remind you. Mr. Gruber, the property management isn't without responsibility in such incidents. If your security assurance obligations had been fulfilled, this situation wouldn't have happened."
"This time we were lucky, but what about next time?"
Mr. Gruber turned pale, but he also knew that Daniela was right and thought for a while.
The woman saw Daniela was about to leave, and without thinking, she stepped forward and pushed Daniela on the back.
