Daniela and Edward's car was stopped in the middle of the road.
A tree, big enough for one person to hug, was blocking the road, making it impossible to pass.
If it hadn't been for Edward's sharp eyes, they would have almost crashed into it.
Edward got out of the car and looked at the situation: "No way. The tree is too big, we can't move it."
Daniela frowned and glanced at her phone.
There was no signal at all.
She gritted her teeth and said, "Let's walk down!"
It wasn't that she didn't want to go back, but the way back was blocked by a pile of large rocks.
If it hadn't been for their good luck that they had just passed by, they would have been buried in the pile of rocks.
The rain and wind today were just too strong.
Daniela felt a pang of guilt in her heart.
It was all her fault for being reckless, causing Edward to get trapped on the mountain with her.
Staying here meant waiting to die.
Edward didn't hesitate either.
They put on their raincoats and started walking down the mountain.
Halfway down, they encountered two trees blocking the road, and a car stopped and drove past.
Obviously, someone had made the same choice as them, choosing to walk down the mountain.
Daniela and Edward exchanged a look and continued walking.
They soon caught up with a group of people ahead.
It wasn't that they were fast, but the people ahead were walking too slowly.
Daniela even saw a familiar figure in the crowd: "Lucas!"
Lucas heard her voice and thought it was an illusion, but when he turned around, he saw it was really her.
Seeing her jogging towards him, his heart skipped a beat: "Don't run!"
The road was slippery, and she was pregnant.
Daniela was sensible and walked steadily towards him.
"Lucas, what are you doing here?"
Seeing that she was fine, Lucas finally explained the situation.
It turned out that they had dug up a hundred-year-old ginseng in the mountain. His grandfather insisted on coming to see it in person.
Who would have known that the rain and wind would be so strong today?
His grandfather almost tripped and fell, so Lucas and an assistant had to take turns carrying him, which was why they were walking so slowly.
This wasn't the place for chit-chat, so they exchanged a few words and continued walking.
Edward took the initiative to help Lucas and the others carry the old man, and their pace finally picked up a bit.
The mountain path wasn't bad, but because there was mud or rocks blocking the road from time to time, it was increasingly difficult to walk.
Daniela's shoes were already wet, making her walk a bit slippery. Thinking of the baby in her belly, she walked even more cautiously.
Lucas stretched out his hand towards her: "Come on."
Daniela didn't make a fuss, and took his hand.
It wasn't that she was inconsiderate, but in this situation, she had to prioritize her and her baby's safety.
She thought to herself: "Baby, I'm sorry, it's Mom's fault. I was too impulsive this time. I put you and Edward in danger. I promise I won't make the same mistake again."
"Also, it was Uncle Lucas who helped Mom down the mountain. Later, you have to thank Uncle Lucas with Mom."
Daniela was walking with her head down when she suddenly felt a pang of anxiety in her heart. She lifted her head abruptly and saw that the rocks ahead were constantly rolling down.
She shouted to Edward in front of her: "Edward, wait."
In the heavy rain, her voice was barely audible.
Daniela didn't care about anything else, she ran a few steps, shouting as she ran.
Her voice finally reached Edward's ears, he stopped curiously and turned to look at Daniela.
"What's wrong? Daniela."
Before Daniela could answer, there was a "boom" and a large pile of mud and rocks rolled down less than a meter in front of Edward, blocking the way.
If Daniela hadn't spoken suddenly, they would have been buried in the dirt.
Edward's body suddenly felt a chill.
But even though they escaped this predicament, their situation was even worse.
They were completely blocked on the mountain.
