Sebastian felt a sudden sense of "I told you so." It seemed like the only thing Daniela was willing to talk to him about now was "divorce."
His heart ached, but he only frowned slightly: "Today is not a good day to talk about divorce."
Daniela just looked at him calmly: "There's no good or bad day for this. Besides, look, it's a rare good day today, perfect for a divorce."
The morning sky was heavy and looked like it was about to snow. But now, the dark clouds had all cleared away, the sky had brightened, and there was a faint blue sky and a golden sun.
This was a rare good day in R City in winter.
Good weather, perfect for a divorce?
How desperately she must have been wanting this divorce.
Sebastian's forehead, feeling a little dazed, involuntarily tensed up: "Don't be ridiculous!"
Daniela said seriously: "I'm not being ridiculous, I'm serious. Sebastian, you were the one who first brought up divorce, and you warned me not to be too greedy."
"Now I'm not greedy, I don't want anything from your Romero Family, I'll just leave with nothing. From now on, we'll go our separate ways, you and I have nothing to do with each other."
She spoke with such decisiveness.
Sebastian's heart felt desolate, his red eyes stared fixedly at Daniela, as if he wanted to burn a hole through her.
Bernard hurried down from the car and tried to persuade her: "Daniela, don't be angry with him. Sebastian didn't mean to come back late, he was shot in a foreign country and almost lost his life."
Daniela slightly raised her eyes and looked at Sebastian with some surprise.
Sebastian glared at Bernard warningly, not allowing him to say anything else.
Seeing Daniela's moved expression, Bernard didn't care about Sebastian and continued to babble: "He just woke up from surgery and ran back to find you, a 10-hour flight, and then he stood in the cold at the airport. That's how he got to see you, but then he collapsed. He's got a 39-degree fever now."
In short, Sebastian had really done his best this time.
Daniela listened quietly and said calmly, "Having a fever is definitely uncomfortable. But getting a divorce is not a difficult thing, I'm leaving with nothing, so there's no need for a property division, it's very quick. It won't take up much of your time."
Bernard's jaw dropped, thinking to himself, when did Daniela become such a devil?
This wasn't a ploy, it was a genuine injury.
He looked back at the group of people behind him, but none of them were willing to speak up.
Sebastian's eyes fixed on Daniela, gritting his teeth: "Is that how much you want a divorce? Is it because of the child in your belly? Who's the father of the child? Lucas? Is it him!"
"You two have been hooking up for a long time!"
"Yes." Daniela calmly admitted.
She had denied it before, because she wanted to hide the pregnancy, and she didn't want to be wrongly labelled.
Now that the pregnancy could no longer be hidden and she wanted a divorce, the father of the child needed an identity, so Lucas had to be the one to take the blame.
Lucas pursed his lips and didn't say anything.
Emilia looked at Daniela and didn't say anything either.
The others were even less likely to speak up.
Only Bernard, upon hearing this, erupted in fury, and punched Lucas in the face.
"We grew up together, for heaven's sake. How could you do this to your conscience?"
Lucas' eyes flickered, but he forced himself to take the punch, acknowledging it.
Bernard was even angrier, and was about to hit him again.
Emilia stopped him and shouted, "Have you had enough!"
Bernard glared at them fiercely, spat, and returned to Sebastian's side.
Sebastian watched this scene, his heart felt like it had been pierced by ten thousand needles, a throbbing pain.
Even though he loved Daniela, he couldn't allow his dignity to be trampled on like this.
He gave a cold smile: "Okay, divorce! But, you leave with nothing. You didn't fulfill your promise, you have to return the six million!"
