“Ugh…”

Daniela woke up and saw the white walls.

She regained her composure and remembered being trapped in the fire.

It seemed she didn’t die in the fire but was rescued.

“Baby!”

She suddenly remembered the child in her belly, reached out to touch her abdomen, and only slightly relaxed when she felt the slight bulge.

“You shouldn’t have risked it all because you were worried about the baby in your belly!”

Sebastian’s deep voice sounded from beside her.

Daniela finally noticed he was sitting by the bed.

The hospital conditions were very limited, there was only enough space for a small chair next to the bed.

Sebastian was sitting on it, his legs couldn’t even stretch out, making the chair seem like it could collapse under his weight at any moment.

“Did you save me?”

Daniela saw some burns on his hands and face. They looked a bit frightening after being treated.

Sebastian nodded.

Daniela lowered her eyes and softly said, “Thank you.”

Sebastian was burned so badly, yet there wasn’t a single wound on her body. He not only saved her but also protected her very well.

This “thank you” came from Daniela’s genuine heart.

“You don’t have to thank me.” Sebastian pursed his lips, feeling a little uncomfortable. “You don’t have to be so polite with me.”

Daniela smiled and pointed to the wound on his face, asking, “What did the doctor say?”

“Minor injuries, nothing serious.”

“Oh, that’s good.”

Daniela replied softly, momentarily unable to find anything else to say.

The atmosphere was a bit heavy.

Sebastian furrowed his brows and said, “The Hudson Family is not doing well.”

Daniela looked at him upon hearing this.

“They inhaled too much smoke and had severe burns. They’re in danger, especially the York couple. They were sent to R City overnight. Lucas went with them.” Sebastian said concisely. “They didn’t wake up when they left.”

Thinking about how the three were still blaming each other in the midst of the fire, Daniela couldn’t help but feel a bit helpless.

She had tried to persuade them, but to no avail.

She could only run to the bathroom.

Whether it was selfishness or indifference, in that situation, she could only protect herself first.

Seeing her silence, Sebastian frowned deeply. “You don’t need to blame yourself. You did a great job protecting yourself.”

Daniela shook her head slightly. “I’m not blaming myself. I’m worried about Sophia. She…”

She paused, her gaze towards Sebastian turning slightly cold.

She was looking for Sophia to deal with Sofia. Sebastian knew this, and he might stop her, so she didn’t say anything more.

“Consider this as me owing Mr. Romero a favor. If Mr. Romero has any requests in the future, feel free to ask. If I can do it, I will.”

Daniela said faintly, already thinking about how to repay him for this favor.

Sebastian frowned. “I have no intention of asking you for anything.”

“Mr. Romero not wanting something doesn’t mean I won’t repay it.” Daniela said. “Although I have limited abilities, I don’t want to owe anyone favors.”

Favors?

Not wanting to owe?

He saved her, yet she felt it was a burden?

Sebastian’s forehead veins bulged.

He pursed his lips, restraining himself from saying anything harsh.

He knew he couldn’t talk properly, always upsetting Daniela.

“You’re tired, get some rest. I’m right outside, call me if you need anything.”

With that, Sebastian abruptly got up, took long strides, and quickly walked out.

“No need…” Daniela’s words trailed off, as he had already exited the ward and closed the door.

Daniela: …

She was a little confused about Sebastian.

Was he trying to be nice to her because he thought the baby in her belly was his?

Was he so obsessed with bloodlines?

Clearly, he wasn’t like this when Sofia was pregnant.

Daniela was momentarily lost in thought.
