It was a snowy scene outside, but inside the house, it felt like spring.
Daniela opened the door and was greeted by a warm, fragrant scent that made her feel relaxed and comfortable, as if every pore in her body was opening up.
She couldn't help but smile.
Nora greeted her, taking the bags from Daniela and Sebastian. "Grandma was worried about you two getting stuck in the snow. I said you wouldn't, that the young master was personally picking you up. But she was still worried."
Daniela smiled slightly.
Fernanda had already waved to her: "Come sit down. You, my dear, weren't one for going out often in the past, but now you're out of sight for days."
Daniela walked over and sat down beside her, saying, "Grandma, you forgot, I'm working now."
It wasn't actually that busy, but Sebastian insisted that she draw pictures for Skyborne Saga, so it became even busier.
Fernanda said, "But you still can't overwork yourself. Don't forget, you're pregnant now. So how many months are you?"
Daniela replied, "Twenty weeks, almost five months."
Fernanda chided her: "Then be careful."
Daniela smiled and nodded.
She couldn't help but think to herself.
She had been with Fernanda these past days, and everyone was often concerned about the baby in her belly, but no one asked about the baby's father anymore.
Of course, they didn't say it was Sebastian's either.
In any case, the whole atmosphere was strange yet harmonious. Even Daniela often forgot how awkward the current situation was.
Sebastian handed her a cup of warm lemon water.
Daniela took it, and in her peripheral vision, she saw that Sebastian's face was expressionless.
It seemed like Daniela was the only one feeling awkward.
Thinking about it, even Daniela didn't feel awkward anymore.
Then, Emilia, Ivan, and the others came one by one.
The only one missing was Lucas. He had gone to Beijing for further studies.
The house became even livelier...
At night, as it was the first day moving into the new house, Emilia stayed with Daniela to sleep.
Afraid of kicking Daniela's belly, Emilia directly slept on the floor.
When they were sharing a room before, she also slept on the floor early, making Daniela feel very embarrassed.
Daniela looked at her with a hint of amusement: "Why don't you move in and sleep with me? This place is big enough, and I can spare you a room."
Emilia shook her head like a rattle: "Stop it! I'm afraid I'll hurt the little baby with my clumsiness."
They say even close brothers keep accounts.
Even the best friends couldn't stand her taking advantage like that.
Daniela knew she couldn't persuade her, so she changed the subject: "Or, you can save up and buy a house next door. We can be neighbors?"
Emilia grimaced: "Ah, sis, you know how expensive these houses are? With my measly salary, when will I ever be able to save enough for a down payment?"
"It's not that difficult," said Daniela. "As far as I know, Star Technology Company's salary isn't low. When Skyborne Saga goes live, there will be bonuses. Save up, and you'll have it soon enough."
Emilia was about to say something, but her phone rang.
She glanced at it, and a wail escaped her lips.
"What's wrong?"
Emilia gritted her teeth: "The salary is high, but they're heartless! I've already asked for leave, but now they're telling me that there will be a launch simulation tomorrow, and no one is allowed to take leave."
"We said we'd go to the prenatal checkup together."
"You're really going? Tomorrow's checkup is nothing complicated, just a 3D scan, you don't need to go."
"No, I have to. I can see the baby during the 3D scan. I have to go."
Emilia disagreed, taking the phone and starting to talk to her boss.
Ten minutes later, Daniela saw her come back with a long face, and knew she had failed.
Daniela comforted her: "It's okay. I can go by myself. I booked the VIP prenatal checkup package, and there are nurses to help, it's very easy."
Emilia had no choice but to agree.
The next morning, they left together.
Just as they walked out the door, they heard the door next door open as well.
Sebastian stepped out, his long legs carrying him out the door.
