Diego's face darkened completely after Daniela left.
He lowered his head and glanced at the document in his hand. He couldn't help it, and he threw the thing in his hand out with a bang.
Stanley heard the noise and walked in slowly, picked up the things and said calmly, "Mr. Flores, several shareholders have called, hoping you can call them back. The list is here."
Diego didn't look at the list. He rubbed his aching temples, closed his eyes, and leaned back on the chair.
Stanley understood and stood behind him to massage him.
After a while, Diego said faintly, "What do you think should be done about this?"
Stanley's movements paused slightly, and he said, "The shareholders' calls just now were all probing about your relationship with Miss Daniela. From what I heard, if Miss Daniela is dissatisfied and wants to withdraw her investment, they won't stay either."
Diego's clasped hands clenched for a moment, then slowly released, "A bunch of fence sitters."
Stanley seemed to chuckle faintly, "The news of Miss Daniela and Mr. Romero's divorce has been kept secret from outsiders. It is only natural for them to give Romero Group face."
"However, J Town Textile should indeed be investigated. Oliver has been going too far all these years."
Diego didn't answer, but waved his hand, asking her to leave first.
Stanley didn't say anything more.
At the door, she stopped and said, "Edmund has been clamoring to see you."
Without waiting for Diego's reply, she left.
Diego closed his eyes and rested for a while before picking up the phone and calling the shareholders back.
Soon, the internal review committee began to investigate J Town Textile.
The first notice was Oliver's suspension notice.
——
Flores Group villa entrance.
Diego got out of the car and looked up at the luxurious villa in front of him.
Come to think of it, he hadn't been back for a long time.
The people here, except for giving him a headache, were not a single bit satisfying.
Diego pursed his lips and walked slowly toward the gate.
A fist came at him from the front, smashing heavily into Diego's face, making him dazed.
He never expected that someone would dare hit him in this house.
"Diego! What do you mean?" Before he could react, Oliver grabbed his collar after a punch and roared in a low voice.
Diego gradually recovered from his daze and saw the person in front of him. His face turned black, "Let go of me."
"Let go?" Oliver hissed, "You won't give me an explanation today. Don't even think about letting go. I'll beat you to death!"
He had done farm work since he was a child and had a strong frame. He has been pampered and spoiled all these years, and his body has developed horizontally. He weighs nearly two hundred pounds.
Compared to Diego's slender and short stature, it really does look like he could kill him with one punch.
Diego's eyes flashed with a trace of ruthlessness, but his face didn't show anything. He said calmly, "Without me covering for you, you're really going to jail?"
How could Oliver possibly want to go to jail?
He was making this fuss just to put pressure on Diego.
Hearing Diego say this, the strength in his hand was already gone by half.
He raised his fist, which was almost as big as half of Diego's face, and warned in a low voice, "You better tell me clearly. Otherwise, no one will be able to live a good life."
Diego pulled his hand away and sat down on the sofa.
The corner of his mouth felt scorching hot.
He took a tissue and wiped it, and wiped off a patch of red.
Oliver had actually broken the corner of his mouth.
Brute!
"Daniela exposed everything in front of all the shareholders, I have to give the shareholders an attitude."
"As for you..."
"You hand over all the money you've been embezzling over the years. I'll try to get the shareholders to drop the charges against you."
Oliver's eyes widened.
He wanted him to spit out the money?!
Isn't that the same as taking his life?
