The Sheldon family was halfway through their journey when a foul stench began to permeate the car.

"What's that smell?"

Ashley almost gagged and quickly covered her nose.

"Pull over, pull over quickly!"

The driver quickly pulled the car over to the side of the road.

As soon as the car came to a stop, Ashley couldn't wait to get out.

Richard and Mrs. Sheldon couldn't help but follow suit.

After inhaling the fresh air outside, their faces improved slightly.

"What's going on?" Richard, who was already in a bad mood, now had an even darker expression.

The driver was also forced to get out. He was startled by Richard's deep voice and shivered involuntarily. He hurriedly checked, but after searching for a long time, he couldn't find the source of the stench.

Ashley was shivering from the cold.

"What do we do? I don't want to smell this stench all the way home!"

The driver smiled wryly.

They probably couldn't even get back home if they tried.

He had noticed that the engine was leaking oil and had shut it down immediately.

Fortunately, the foul odor had alerted them. Otherwise, they wouldn't have noticed anything and who knows what could have happened.

Thinking about it, the driver couldn't help but shudder.

"How did the oil leak?" Richard asked in a deep voice.

The driver had no idea.

Everything seemed fine when they left.

He didn't dare say much at this moment and could only start checking the car.

The days leading up to the New Year were undeniably cold, especially up in the mountains. They had only been standing for less than a minute before they started feeling the chill.

Ashley's body was already weakened, and she felt even colder now. A dull ache began to spread in her lower abdomen.

"Oh! My hands are so cold!" Mrs. Sheldon noticed her trembling and quickly helped her up. As she touched Ashley's hand, she found it ice-cold.

If they stayed out in the cold any longer, they would definitely suffer lasting health problems.

Mrs. Sheldon couldn't wait and anxiously asked the driver, "How is the car?"

The driver looked apologetic and raised his head. "The engine is broken. We need to have it towed for repair."

Mrs. Sheldon's face immediately turned serious.

They hadn't wanted to make a big fuss when visiting the Jones Family, so they had only brought this one car with them today.

Now that the car had broken down, they didn't even have a spare.

Richard glanced at his daughter, whose face had turned pale from abdominal pain. He felt a pang of heartache.

"Call a tow truck. Help Ashley back into the car first."

At least it would be warmer in the car than on the mountain road.

The driver, however, stopped them. "Madam, Madam. The engine is leaking oil, it's dangerous."

Mrs. Sheldon was a little anxious and her voice became stern. "Then what do we do? How did you check the car before leaving?"

The driver was completely clueless and could only keep apologizing with a mournful face.

"Alright. There's no use in berating him." Richard said, "Since the car is leaking oil, don't get back in. We'll have to endure it."

Ashley's face turned even paler at his words.

Mrs. Sheldon's heart ached so much she almost shed tears. "We can endure it, but Ashley can't."

Richard sighed and took off his coat, putting it on Ashley.

"No, you give your coat to Ashley, what about you?"

"It's fine. The Jones Family isn't far from here, I'll call and ask them to send a car."

He had practically been kicked out earlier, and now he was calling them back for help. Even Richard couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed.

But they couldn't really stay out here in the cold, and who knows how long it would take for a tow truck to come from down the mountain.

When Ivan received Richard's call for help, he couldn't help but frown.

He called for the butler, arranged the necessary arrangements, and then went to find Scott.

Scott was sulking in his room.

How could he be so impatient and go help Daniela?

Seeing Ivan come in, he said unhappily, "What do you want?"

Ivan couldn't hold back and gave him a kick. "Did you tamper with the Sheldon Family's car?"

Scott's face changed, and he stubbornly replied, "What are you talking about? I don't know."

Ivan laughed angrily.

"That car is a life-threatening thing, and you dared to mess with it? You must be tired of living comfortably."

"Without evidence, don't talk nonsense!" Scott turned away.

Ivan couldn't hold back and kicked him again.

"You think Richard is as stupid as you? He can figure out it was a problem at the Jones Family with just a little thought. You still think you did a great job?"
