“Mom, what are you doing here?”
Daniela got out of bed, but she was still feeling ill from the morning, so she just sat on the edge of the bed, not daring to stand up.
Antonia stood in front of her.
She was wearing a pink windbreaker paired with white stilettos, making her look noble and elegant.
She glanced at Daniela casually and saw that she could get up, so she said, “Alright, you can go home since you can get up.”
Daniela was stunned: “Mom, is there something you want me to do when I get discharged?”
Antonia looked at her suspiciously: “You wouldn’t get discharged if there was nothing?
“Go have a look at yourself. Which daughter-in-law is always sickly and goes to the hospital from time to time? It’s so unlucky.”
There’s nothing unlucky about seeing a doctor when you’re sick.
But Daniela knew Antonia’s temperament. If she were to talk back, she would be even more relentless.
She would talk endlessly about all those rules for being a daughter-in-law.
Daniela lowered her head and said softly, “I know. I’ll ask the doctor. If I can get discharged today, I will.”
Actually, Lucas had just said yesterday that she should stay for another three days, and after that, they would check her condition and discharge her if there were no problems.
Antonia waved her hand: “No need to ask. I’ve already asked them to handle the discharge, you can just pack your things and leave.”
“Staying one night in the VIP ward of Sunshine Hospital costs 100,000. Even though the Romero Family is wealthy, it’s not enough for you to keep spending like this.”
As she spoke, she put the hospital bill on the table.
Her newly done nails were gorgeous.
“Take a good look and see how much the Romero Family has spent on you. Then think about whether you’re worthy.”
Daniela’s face slightly changed.
Antonia “heh”ed and looked away with disdain: “Once you’re discharged, go apologize to Cline. Daniela, you bullied your younger sister-in-law. If people find out, they’ll say you’re heartless.”
After saying that, she walked away, clicking her high heels.
The air was filled with the strong smell of perfume, almost making it hard to breathe.
This was the smell of the expensive perfume Antonia wore, costing tens of thousands of dollars a bottle. Antonia’s bedroom had over a dozen bottles.
Daniela liked those beautiful bottles, but she didn’t like the smell of the perfume inside.
It was too strong.
She couldn’t stand it, especially now that she was pregnant.
She couldn’t help but rush to the bathroom and vomit again.
After throwing up, she silently got up and started packing.
Lucas knew she was leaving when Daniela was almost finished packing.
“Didn’t we agree to discharge you in three days?”
Daniela wrinkled her nose and pretended to be relaxed, “I’ve been in the hospital for a while and I’m tired of it. It’s much better at home.”
Lucas felt sorry for her after hearing her pitiful tone: “Alright then. But you still need to come for follow-up checkups, when the time comes…”
Before he could finish, Sebastian’s voice came from the doorway: “She’s in such a weak state, she can’t be discharged.”
Yesterday, after hearing Juan’s words, he decided to bring Daniela some delicious food, so he specially bought her a bowl of sauerkraut and beef noodles for breakfast.
Halfway through, he felt Daniela vomiting again, so he quickly ran over.
Unexpectedly, Daniela was going to be discharged.
Sebastian glared at Lucas: “How can you be a doctor? You don’t know your patient’s condition and you actually agree to let her be discharged?”
Daniela protected Lucas and glared back at Sebastian: “It’s my own decision to be discharged, it has nothing to do with Lucas. Stop making trouble.”
Sebastian’s eyebrows twitched and he gritted his teeth: “I’m making trouble? I’m doing this for your own good, don’t be a dog biting Lu Dongbin, not knowing a good person when you see one.”
Daniela gave a cold laugh: “It’s you who’s a dog catching a rat, meddling in other people’s business.”
Sebastian’s green veins on his forehead were clearly visible. He angrily threw the sauerkraut noodles into the trash can.
“You’re right. If you die, it’s none of my business. Being widowed is good, it won’t delay me marrying Sofia.”
