The next morning, Daniela and Sebastian opened their bedroom doors at the same time. Daniela scoffed and turned away as soon as she saw him. Sebastian clenched his jaw. This woman was... infuriating.

Daniela was drinking water when Sebastian stood over her with a cold face: "You stayed home all day yesterday, why didn't you clean up the house? Look at this mess."

"Also, I need you to wash my clothes."

Daniela had just woken up and was in a bad mood. She put the water glass down on the counter with a loud "clunk."

"Mr. Romero, I am not your maid."

Sebastian said, "That's what you said before. You said you didn't need a maid, that you could do it yourself."

She had said that. Daniela wanted to go back in time and slap herself.

"Anyway, I'm not doing it anymore!"

"You!"

Daniela ignored him and slammed the door shut. Sebastian gritted his teeth. If she didn't want to do it, she didn't have to. The Romero Family didn't need one more servant.

After breakfast, Daniela met up with Emilia and found a real estate agent to look at houses. The agent showed her three properties, all near the hospital. Two were two-bedroom apartments, and one was a three-bedroom house.

The agent strongly recommended the three-bedroom house: "It's bigger. Your mother can stay in one room when she gets better, and you can have a study room."

Daniela refused. She was only renting a place near the hospital as a temporary solution. When she got divorced and had some money, she would buy her own place.

It didn't matter if it was far away. What mattered was having a place of her own.

Her mother... probably wouldn't be coming out of the hospital anytime soon.

"Do you have any one-bedroom apartments?"

The agent saw she couldn't be swayed, so she took her to see a one-bedroom apartment. It was actually quite nice. Daniela wasn't one to hesitate, so she signed the lease.

Emilia was very excited: "Come on, let's go buy furniture! We'll make the place look beautiful."

Daniela was already tired. She pulled Emilia back. "Let's rest for a bit, my dear."

She was pregnant after all and couldn't run around too much.

Emilia finally remembered that too. She saw Daniela's pale complexion and asked, "Are you okay?"

Daniela shook her head. "But you, what's wrong? You seem upset."

Emilia sighed. "It's just Eric's family and their drama."

Eric Brown was her college boyfriend. They were about to get married.

"What happened?"

"Eric's grandfather fell and was taken to the county hospital yesterday."

"You know, the county hospital's conditions are limited. The Brown Family wants to transfer him to the city hospital."

Daniela nodded. "R City has good medical care. It's better to bring him here. Why are you worried?"

Emilia sighed again. "I agree with bringing him to the city. But Eric's mom said they can't come with us to take care of him. She wants me to take time off work and care for him."

"Ah?"

Daniela frowned.

"What does Eric's grandfather have to do with you? He's a generation older, and you're a young woman. It's not convenient for you."

"What did Eric say?"

Emilia got angry. "This simple logic is clear to us, why doesn't Eric understand? He agrees with his mom and says I should take care of him."

"He says I'm a girl, I'm good at taking care of people, and I should go."

"I haven't even taken care of my own grandfather. I'm supposed to take care of his? The whole Brown Family is useless!"

"I had a huge fight with him yesterday. He thinks that because we're getting married, I have to listen to him? Hmph."

Daniela wrinkled her brow. "Eric didn't seem like such a dimwit before."

"Who knows?"

Emilia waved her hand. "Let's not talk about him. Let's go eat."
