Lucas' words were the biggest surprise for Daniela. Now, the only thing left to solve was the money issue.

"Don't worry about the money. Just give me it when you have it."

Daniela felt a little uncomfortable, but a bottle of medicine cost two hundred thousand, which she couldn't afford now.

"However, there's something I want to discuss with you."

Lucas changed the subject.

"My teacher is very interested in Aunt's condition and wants to take a good look. But I see that the hospital's medical records only cover the time period when you were in the sun. Would you mind finding the old medical records?"

Daniela thought for a moment.

There were indeed some medical records in Renata's things.

She nodded. "I'll go back and organize them today."

Lucas thanked her.

Daniela shook her head gently. "If we're talking about thanks, I should be the one saying it. I don't know who Lucas' teacher is, but they must be someone extraordinary. Having such a skilled doctor helping to look at my mom's condition is a good thing for her."

She felt a little embarrassed. "Lucas has helped me so much, and there's nothing I can do for him."

Lucas tapped the steering wheel and suddenly said, "There's something you might be able to help me with?"

"Hmm?"

"There's an auction in a few days, and I heard there's a genuine masterpiece on it. I want to buy it for my grandfather's birthday. Will you go with me to check it out?"

This was something she had agreed to before.

Daniela nodded and said, "But I've never been to an auction before. What if..."

She was also afraid that her eyesight wasn't good enough and she would cause Lucas to lose money.

Lucas chuckled. "I know how capable you are."

When she was in art appreciation class in college, her tutor had commented that her eyesight was sharper than his.

If she couldn't tell the difference between real and fake, there wouldn't be many in R City who could.

"I'm really curious how your mom taught you."

Daniela remembered her childhood, a small room filled with paintings.

All of them were painted by Renata, teaching her how to appreciate and distinguish them in a practical way.

She was able to learn because Renata put her heart and soul into it.

She taught her seriously, but she wouldn't let her tell anyone.

Lucas and the others only knew because they were close friends with her.

As for her college teacher, his remark was basically that she was lucky, because she had spotted a flaw he hadn't.

There was still a lot she hadn't learned before Renata's mental state deteriorated.

Daniela's mood visibly dropped.

——

The Romero Family Estate was more lively than usual today.

When Daniela entered, Fernanda was sitting in the hall, chatting happily with a young man.

Daniela recognized him as George Romero, the grandson of George from the Romero Family. He had gone on a world tour and had returned unexpectedly.

"The aurora borealis was so colorful, green, blue, and purple, it was like magic! Grandma, you have to see it someday."

Fernanda listened intently, and when she heard his words, she sighed wistfully. "I would love to, but I'm old now, I can't walk anymore."

George Romero immediately retorted, "Grandma, you're not old at all! When I go out with you, people think we're siblings."

This was an exaggeration, but Fernanda was happy to hear it and chuckled.

Seeing Daniela, who had arrived recently, she waved her hand. "Daniela is here, come over. I heard you were discharged from the hospital, are you feeling better?"

"Daniela."

"George is back."

They both nodded to acknowledge each other.

Daniela sat down next to Fernanda and said softly, "George is right, Grandma should go out more. If you stay cooped up all day, you'll become lazy."

Fernanda waved her hand. "My only wish now is to hold my great-grandson sooner..."
